          wlfnvegas,

How far from Echo were you on that pick? Looks like a potential place for the reunion headquarters...

Very nice picture. The only thing that would be better is if it looked better than that at noon...

chpthril, Noted! I'll try harder next time!

Tall - This was about a 15 - 20 minute ride north of Echo. We bounced back and forth up the Overton Arm and this was the only spot we found that was nice and sandy. The water looked just like that all day. It was that flat at 4PM.

I think there were quite a few areas out there on the East side of the lake that looked potentially feasible as well.

I hope to get up there for a definite spot for the HQ before the reunion. If not, then will have to wait until the day before.

I might even be trying to get in touch with Evilone (who has a slip at Echo), and maybe see what other input can be gathered. Maybe your spot is the best spot. I was hoping to find an area that got deeper a little quicker so that boats could be nosed closer to the beach without fear of running gear rubbing on the bottom.

There were plenty of spots like that out there - I had to find a nice sandy spot with little or no vegetation for the women folk. If it had been just the guys we probably would have stayed closer to echo. One thing you do want to watch out for - we found a beach about a month ago that looked perfect. I threw my buddy the EZ up and he carried it onto the beach, where he promptly sank up to his knees. Since then he makes me get out first.

Now that would make nice headlines in the Las Vegas Review Journal, "30 people (or 50 or whatever), sunk to their knees in mud at lake mead, had to be pulled out by Tige boats"

Unfortunately nothing like you would get in all that sun

that day it was low 70's which is pretty normal for around here until the end of Sept. Our threshold is about 65 anything under that and we put the wet suites on.

We have a few lakes in the Okanagan that get to about mid 80's in the summer but those are about 4 hours away, where our local lake is 15 minutes

Looks wierd to see a big lake that is nearly full. I cannot remember what they look like when the vegetation goes down to the shoreline. I would never have guessed you could get a lake like that up to the 70's in temperature. Very beautiful!

We will need to watch out for the muck!
