Maybe you could look at getting a slip on the lake or something that would be a bit cheaper than another vehicle. Most slips will let you pay monthly.

AAWWHHAA see how smart the people on this board are... I never thought about that-- oh yeah you will for sure have friends lined up to pull the boat!!

The guy that brings the tow, doesn't have to bring the beer though.

You gotta be able to find a chevy truck, that runs. I sold a 93 suburban that ran great, with a 454, but was WELL used for $2500. That would take your whole crew and the boat no problem, surf craigslist, I am sure you can find something.

You guys are great I started sucking up to one of my semi rich friends that lives on the lake and bought a DAMN pontoon boat so he could drive his family and dogs around the lake. One more question other than a compression check is there anything I should look for on a 2004 22V that might be a problem. I know you have a few on the board not real happy with Tige but I am sure there are always those around. This will be my first boat and I know there are always issues but would like to limit them. Here is a pic of my possible new ride. I love the clean white look.

Nice lookin ride. you oughta pick it up, then have your semi-rich friend let you dock your boat in at his dock. You could even offer to pay him a nominal fee every year, or just buy him all the beer he wants. Then you can just drive over in your van and BAM! you're all set up.

Hopefully I will get something figured out on the tow deal. I live in a small neighborhood in FL and we have a private ski lake so its just a short drive through two stop signs then our lake.
Dom Forte is active on this board and has been very helpful. I'd buy a boat from him! Keep in mind your dealer has a big influence on your overall boating experience so you're in good hands with Dom.

I am sure you will be popular on your ski lake with a big V Drive, 'hey I got it all chopped up for ya". Should have no trouble finding someone to help you put it in .

Dom is GREAT he is one of the most knowledgable guys about boats I have ever spoken with. That being said I called the dealer today that had that boat and it sold yesterday morning. So back to the drawing board. I have to buy used or I would buy from Dom in a second! Hoping he has a trade in come up at the boat show this weekend. I really appreciate everyones input.

Make sure the steering cable is still ok. If the wheel is a chore to turn, work something out so you don't pay the 500$ for a new one. You "can" do it yourself- but I wouldn't try it again after doing it last week.
