We almost bought a 2007 24V with the same issue but bubbles were of different sizes the dealer had the boat stripped down and redone I have seen the boat you can not even tell. We have a 2006 20V with 325 hrs on and not a problem with the hull you guys all scared me away from buying the 24 it was a killer deal.
PS we were on the river sunday 80 degrees out awsome day for the middle of Jan.

I'd look at another boat and move on. It sounds like the gel coat is bubbling and that can only lead to further problems down the road. Was the boat owned by an individual or a Tige Dealership?

For what it's worth, I would move on and look at other boats. You are paying top $$$$'s for the boat and I agree with everyone, if has to be in great condition.

Once the Gelcoat blisters it typically will blister again and again. Fiberglass slowly allows water to penetrate it causing the blisters. A fiberglass shop can get rid of the current blisters but they have a tendency to come back unless the fiberglass has completely dried out. IMO run not walk from this deal. $1500 is not enough.

would you rather us have said "bah! dont worry about it! Tigés never break!" Then down the road the problem comes back and you come on here all upset that you're having to spend time and/or money to fix the problem again. Whereas, your 20v is most likely still in pristine condition.

If they left the boat in the water for a long period, which shows some disregard, what other issues may the boat have, due to other areas of disregard that you can't see? I would rather buy a used boat, from a one owner guy, that I can tell REALLY cared for his boat, rather than a demo that has been somewhat mistreated for a season.

Gellcoat finish quality and color match doesn't seem to be a Tige' factory strong point.

If we ever buy another Tige it'll be in the contract we have refusal if the quality in our opinion in sub-par or their are punctures in the interior.

We're going through the interior puncture from the factory/glueing repair again.
The only boat company that glues factory mistakes rather than just replace or repair the cushion.
Pathetic really.

The factory knows most deposits on boat orders are binding & non-refundable and quality takes a big hit because of it.

They have you by the sac and they take full advantage of it.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought your vinyl issues were with the dealers choice of repair people, not on a factory level I maybe thinking of another owner that had a bad repair done through thier dealer.

The gebcoat is actually one of the things that was done flawlessly on my boat. Trust me, scratches, nicks, and other imperfections show up quite a bit on red and black. There is absolutely no white on the hull of my boat. I'm extremely picky about stuff like that too. Of course mines been sitting in the garage and is covered in pollen and dead bugs right now, but a wash and a wax will remedy that.

Anyways, dont leave your boat in the water. You've obviously got a slip, so get a lift. The cost compared to a 2007 20v is negligible. Pony up for a cover and a lift and take proper care of your boat.
