tearing seams

I've read several posts about the seat seams and how they were "poorly designed" but I haven't read anything as to how I could prevent them from getting worse. Anybody have any ideas?
My boat only has 90 hours on it (2002 20v) it doesn't seem to me like this should be a problem at all in an expensive boat with little use.
I just got the boat a few weeks ago; the idea of spending all that money to have them recovered is a definite No. Maybe even a he!! NO. I've heard it's quite expensive to have seats redone.

Any ideas to stop it before it gets worse?

The problem is almost always people stepping into your boat. If you're wet or the seats are wet from wet people getting into your boat, it's worse. Finally, the spray-on sunscreen seems to be bad for the vinyl. The big problem with a V-Drive is that in order to get into the boat, you have to climb over the seats. You'll notice the newer boats all have awalkway from swim platform into the boat and that the corner cushions flip over.

My boat started developing the same issue last year and now it's deteriorating rapidly. Part of it is that we are using the heck out of the boat and my kids have gotten bigger. I'm going to have to replace my interior (got some nicks from careless riders in addition to the seat cushion problem) this winter and I'm thinking of putting gator grip underneath my removable middle cushion so that people stepping into the boat can step on the fiberglass instead of my seats. That's my only suggestion thus far. BTW, I'm right at 600 hours, half of it has come in the last 2 years.

I'm not sure it would be a warranty issue since the boat is 5 yrs old. I will do the middle step with extra Gator Grip I have left over from my Jet Ski but that's a band-aid fix at best.
I wonder if making more vents in the bottom would help at all?

Probably not. The problem is that it has seams in the middle. My front cushions are in much better shape because there are no seams in the middle of the cushion.

We had a problem with our two back seats from getting in and out. Dealer replaced the skins for free we had to put them on. They rip right on the seam. The new boats have a flip over cushion on the corner that has carpet like floor on them.
