hmmm since Roger Penske now effectively owns mastercraft, I wonder how that's going to effect Tigé's pricing on Penske extreme composites? I also wonder if M/C is going to start using Penske extreme for their floors and stringer systems?

I bet it was just a financial move. One of the new partners is a financial manager. I doubt pricing will change, if anything it will go up.

            Still over priced

There boats are still way over priced for what they offer. And most of the owners of them are total but heads. I know a few guys that own them and are good guys.

It seems that every time I am at the lake and a MC pulls on the water there mission is to try and swamp me. It seems they are trying to prove there $90,000.00 boat is better than my $55.000.00 boat even though I can do just as much if not more than them and I have just as much if not more in many cases of accessories. I just did it for less money and I think that is what they get pissed about. They did not do there home work before buying and were suckered into a high dollar boat that is no better than our boats. . If Mastercraft would have kept Pigeon employed and paid him good enough wages to want to stay there they would not have TIGE' nipping at there heel.

            Just my two cents worth.

It have read it somwhere in a magazine that he was an engineer for them and he saw a nich market that he wanted to go after. That is what pushed him to start TIGE' along with his passion for boats since he was a kid.

Tige must have big teeth, as MC sales are 270% more then Tige.

                  From Boattest.com
MasterCraft, located in Vonore, TN, is the world’s second largest builder (about 2300 units in 2006) of water ski and wakeboard boats, after west coast builder Malibu (2900 units in ’06). The total US market for these specialized inboard-powered boats is about 10,000 annually, with the rest of the market made up primarily of Correct Craft (1600 units), Moomba (1260 units), Supra (644 units) and Tigé (850 units).
Tige, it's a way of life!

                    a road less travelled

I like having a boat I don't see hundreds of. I am between Chicago/Milwaukee and there are MCs everywhere you turn. Part of the draw for my particular boat was the fact that I don't see a bunch of them. I like being different

It's been my personal experience when investors come in with a lot of money they don't turn a blind eye to daily operations, even though they ALL say that. They want a warm fuzzy feeling they can only get from being involved in some fashion...just hope for MCs sake it's not "involved" like I've seen in the past.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Notice I said nipping not chomping off the heels. MasterCraft has been around a lot longer and should be doing better at there sales.

                        True.
However, I was surprised to see that Malibu is the top seller

Yea there is BU's all over the place down here. One thing they have going for them is the BLING thing. That is what sells them. They have horrible gas mileage and don't built a very clean ramp wake. They build a sharp high wake. When our friend takes his BU out is sits at anchor and we board behind the my TIGE. He owns a 23 XTI and it is a nice boat but you sure do loose a ton of space to the engine cover and placement.

If I recall right, MC sales are stagnant, while most everyone else has gone up every year for the last few years. It was not long ago that MC was first, right?
