Thanks for the warning. I will be sitting at home drinking cold ones and hanging up the keys for a few days.
CP3, chp,
Ramps are open at Beatties Ford off on NC 16 westside. I just put my boat in for the weekend this morning 6ft at the dock. However, our houseboat is a no go due to the low water. My buddy had to move his boat way up north to the boat rack. Sandbar will still be rocking on Norman

I was just getting ready to PM you. That's still the same ramps you said to use?
This is still Sunday, right? If you are still planning on being there, we are planning on coming up. Probably bring both boats

hey guys we will be down on Lake Norman also on Sunday afternoon and Monday. I will have my boat. Where are you guys going to be? I will be staying up above hwy150 by Skippers if you have heard of it. It isn't far from the main channel off to the right. I wish I could remember the marker numbers, I think #51 is somewhere in the channel if I remember right. I get off at exit 49 on hwy 21 at Troutman. I don't know much about the lake but I do have a map and the family we are staying w/ have been down there since the 70's so they may know.
chpthril, I have an address I can PM you w/. if that will help.
Best place to put in is at Beatties Ford Acess area, If you take 273 up through Mount Holly turn Right on Rt 16 N follow that till you cross Rt73 next red light make a right on to Unity Church Road. THis dead ends into Beatties Ford acess Great ramp its only a few years old, nice dock, 4 lane to launch and its less than 1 mile from the Sandbar.
Sandbar is close to marker D5 but you have to go acrossed the main channel
stay to your right of the first island you see past go between it shore, avoid Baechin Shoal(it's marked) turn right and you there, I'll try to look for a map on line.

Dale,
We plan on putting in at Beatties Ford access and will be at "The Sand Bar" that is close to marker D5. You guys should try and get down that way, or we may try and ride up.
Where are you going to be? I have a friend that has a house up that way, West side of lake off Molly's Backbone Rd and go past Michael Waltrip's house. Not sure where it is by water but sure I could find it no prob.

chpthril,
I made a map where we are staying. The channel we are in is about 1/2 mile off the channel on the right and there is an "A" frame silver boat house on the right and my white Tundra will be sitting on the boat ramp at the waters edge. I have been looking at a map and I see that hwy16 looks like it is below the 150 bridge around Denver. I will print out a map of the lake so I have it. I don't know much about Lake Norman when I'm on the water (it is so big and easy to get lost). Give me an idea where the sand bar is if possible. I know we will be trying to find Carolina Thunder Marine because there is a Malibu there for sale we want go look at so we will be out. I will keep my cell phone on the boat.
(If anyone has any input on 1990 Malibu skier Euro or a 1995 Mastercraft pro star 190 let me know please. After they rode in my boat I think he is hook on a ski boat now) Go Tige!
So far, not much differect than a regular weekend on the Colorado River in Parker. That could change in the next few hours though.
Traffic on the road seemed less too
trd I would suggest going to a local store and getting a lake map bc it will have all the markers and everything on it.
CP3, chpthril,
I got my map out and I will be up in the Rocky Creek channel about 1/2 down. I see where you guys are putting in, that is at the lower part of the lake. We may ride down on sunday afternoon, will won't get to the lake until about 1pm (boat in the water). We will be out all day Monday also just in case you get up that way. I have an older map 89', so do you have any OLD landmarks that I could go by?
Thanks
Picked up the new 22' Pontoon boat yesterday. It will be mainly for fishing starting in October. However, I wanted to try it out today, and something I have had in mind. Can't do much wakeboarding on Labor Day weekend, so we are going to take out the Pontoon, and the wave runners. Find a nice spot to swim and picnic all day, and just tie the wave runners off and use it as a base to screw around all day. Thinking this could be something we do sometimes in the summer on the weekends, when we wakeboard and wakesurf during the week. We will see how it goes. Planning on DEF taking the TIGE out on monday to practice for Last INT. Should be good water in the afternoon.
