Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein
that is a quote I recieved from an online company. if we can get 4 more ppl
I'm in, but I think we should agree on the colors, I like a black and white one to match my tige one. But I'm in, as it's the same size as my other flags, and it would match perfectly.

Once again, you are the man with the plan! I'm on board with Dom's suggestion.

the only problem is the flag poles are still on back order. HOWEVER I have had them before and they work GREAT! I'm adding a second receiptical to my port side so I can fly two flags They extend to up to 6 feet, so you can fly any size flag, they work great, just don't try to use them for a balance or hand rail don't ask!

Sorry guys. Work got a little hectic and I am racking up some frequent flyer miles. This kind of got put on the back burner.
I have requested quotes on a very simple 12 x 18 and 16 x 24 inch flag with the tigeowners.com straight across and diaganolly. I have been playing phone tag with the company as I do not have much free time. If someone wants to take charge I would appreciate it.

Heading back to the hotel
More later
Sounds familar to what I do. I will be back on the planes in a week. No fun. although I always get the first class upgrade that is good. Makes it a little more worth doing.
Email from the flag lady yesterday:
Dear Clark
We need to have the artwork as an EPS or AI file to work with. For your questions we can make the flags in 12 days we prefer to send all together and you can order more and yes the price will go down.
Please tell me the quantity and I’ll quote you.
thanks
....anyone know how to get the artwork in tha format?
I am not sure CP3 has the file unless Matt sent it to him. However, I know Matt sent the file to XPJim. CP3 might have the interent version of the image and the quality of that image isn't as good as Matt has.
EPS = encapsulated post script
The file contains vectors to determine the shape and color of the artwork.
AI = Adobe Illustrator file
This is Adobe's version of an EPS. It contains some data readable by vector drawing tools in programs, but can also contain extra data useable in Adobe Illustrator and other apps.
You cannot take a raster image (an image that is built using colored pixel data....IE gif, jpg, psd, etc, etc) an export out a useable vector image file. The file will have the .eps or .ai extension, but the data required will not be there. It will basically be a screenshot of artificial path data, usually of the outline.
There are some programs that can trace a raster image (flash can do it limited, and will require some cleanup) A vector program must have the path data available. Nearly all print houses require the path data (EPS, AI, DWG, etc) to be able to get their printing program to read the file. If you can find an old school silk screener, they can do it without the vector data using an emulsion screen and UV. I used to do this at a print shop I worked at.
If you cannot supply the vector artwork, you need to pay to have a graphic designer redraw the image logo and convert the text data to paths (this is why the print houses always want to upcharge you for not having compatible artwork). The chrome effect on the tigeowners.com logo looks like it is a raster blend and is probably not path data. That is probably not required for the single color printing we are having done though. It could be recreated in vector info, but for a printer to get the blend look, it would require them to modify it to work with the type of printer software they have available (some do gradients differently). I would offer to redraw it, but I don't have time right now. Maybe if it isn't ready when I return form my trip I can see if it still needs to be done.
Matt, if you are following this and need to logo redone in illustrator or freehand, what typeface did you use for the tigeowners.com text?
