    Capacity

I remembered a thread earlier asking about the capacity stickers.
    Well, I found this.

Thanks for the post. I was the one asking about capacity. I don't have that yellow sticker in my boat. So I was wondering how many I could seat.
Also what about adding 500-1500 pounds of water in the boat so how does that affect the seating capacity?

    Thanks
    Sam

      Your welcome Sam.

By the math 1,500 lbs. of ballast would equal 10 people. My boat also does not have a sticker so mine worked out to 12.5 people. So, if I had that much ballast, myself and observer. I would have room for one midget/child.

          LOL, Good one.
So the other day when I had 500 pounds and 11 people I may have been a bit over the limit.....That will happen.

            Sam,

I wouldn't sweat it. Some of the guys I know pile 2500lbs on top of the factory ballast in their 22Ves and the boat seams to handle it just fine. It does affect handling significantly, so if you do load up your boat, do realize that it won't handle the same as when it's empty.

How would they know? Do they have scales for everyone?

Well, if the wake is outrageously large, the po po have a reason to check the boat. They can count the # of ppl and fat sac. They count the weight and bingo!!!! Ticket for overweighting a boat or endangering lives (this is a far fetched one though). The thing that sam has going for him is that he doesn't have the sticker but for my boat, the sticker is in plain sight. I'm not even sure what the po po would have done not to mention that having 11 on the boat would have created a nice wake even without that sac....

Well, the boat is smaller by 2 inches... That might make up for 1 person...

But looking at the spec's, apparently my 24Ve is only 24 inches long. Do you think it is mistyped???

Isn't the interior of the Ve hull bigger?

all single-hulled recreational boats less than 20 feet in length have a placard,
So technically boats larger than 20' don't need one?

I'm beginning to think Cali is a police state. You guys have way to many people engaged in tell others what to do. What do they think, people can't take care of themselves?

As for your 24" boat, I'd like to see some pics of you and 15 of your friends on a 24" boat
