What to do about broken tower???

I purchased a 2300 LSV used (2001 model) My family loves it. But disaster struck this past Sunday. I was pulling my son on a wakeboard (he weighs about 70 pounds) and my tower snapped in into 2 pieces at both tubes on top and detatched from the boat. The tige customer service said there was not much they could do since the boat was 6 years old. Also, too bad about getting another tower like that one that will fit that bimini. Anyone have any thoughts on what to do for this? I dont have pictures yet but will be glad to post them if anyone else might have this model and wants to see where the tower broke. Also this is the standard issue Tige tower that I'm sure everyone else has. Thanks, Mark

You probably have the metcraft tower. Some here say it's the metcrap tower... Glad to hear that no one was hurt but it does suck....

Do a search. Much has been said on this topic. 2001 towers and older. Some have had the tower repaired, most have replaced the tower. Good luck. Glad no one was hurt!!

Had mine repaired at a weld shop that could heliarc weld, and just sanded and painted where the powder coat was burned off. Mine only broke in one place though. Good luck, and welcome to the site.
PS: You might be able to do a search on the site and find one for sale that someone has replaced.

We had our Metcrap welded then it broke again We ended up replacing it with a Monster Tower. Huge difference!! It's solid with no rattles or creaky noises. We were afraid if we kept welding/fixing the old one someone would eventually get hurt.

Gotta love Monster Towers! They are stout!
