Guys I was thinking about polishing my tower. Its brushed now. Is it possible to do this with out ruining the tower? I think it would look trick polished nice and shiny
Well, this winter he will have a lot of time but on the other hand, Folsom Lake is low enough that me might want to think about ending the boarding season early..
But, this will allow him to have a project during his down time.... I would try it on a small area first to see the results.
I thought about doing that, but it's a lot of work and not many people would notice. My wife and I have talked about having all the metal on our next boat done in a polished gold color. Now, I've never seen that. Another option was to have everything done in black chrome.

Don't give away your ideas, then people will think that it's not original.
OK! Thanks for looking out for me. We're already getting ideas together for the next boat. I would really like to have more of a 50/50 love it hate ratio with my next boat. The first idea I mentioned is one of the details were really considering. I'm not worried about anyone else stealing it, it would cost a fortune to do it. It's probably waaaay out of my budget.

Well, you really don't need a new boat, just a new wrap...change it every year and really surpise everyone

I think you could get it powder coated in chrome and save yourself a lot of time....
DON'T DO THE POWDERCOATING!!!!!!!!! Sorry, wanted to get my point across. And if you do, take it to a place that will warranty it.... Tige does not warranty the powdercoating on their stuff......
Well I would think that you wouldn't be shipping it to Tige for powdercoating but....hey!
As for polishing the tower, if you have the right tools it wouldn't be all that bad. The sanding and polishing will still take a long time but the welds aren't any different than the rest of it if you have a bench grinder with the buffing wheel attachments on it. The main thing with polishing the tower is that you will have to keep a lot of metal polish on hand because it starts to look like crap pretty quickly if it's not protected with clear coat. Chrome powdercoat would be fine if you aren't dropping the tower a lot, powdercoat is usually very durable but you can run into problems when you have something like tower screws always being rubbed against it and once it starts flaking or peeling then you know....
