Polished Tower

I have a tower I built with a friend that is a fabricator on my I/O and I made it satin/ brushed finish then power coated it clear. Powder coat holds up OK, like any finish the key is surface preparation. My tower has held up for 4 years in salt water except where it gets damaged by hardware or where board racks clamped it etc. Polishing looks good but any scratches you get made it look terrible, be prepared for lots of maintenance if you polish it to chrome finish.

I love my garage. Thanks for the complements. I had the space, so when I had it built, I considered that when I move, someone else might not want a 'boat garage' so I made it big enough for most RV's. It is 36 feet deep and the door is 16 feet wide and 12 feet tall. The board racks on my boat are 10'+ , and since many RV's need a 12' door, I went with it.
A friend of mine has a nautweek that has a brushed alluminum tower and I think it looks really cool, and have not noticed any scratches or anything. The tower I am partial to right now is the Samson. Somehwat of a chrome look there.Be excellent to one another.

We got scared away by the potential of bad weather. By 'we', I mean the wife.
Spent all day today at Sand Hollow. It was pretty nice. yesterday we went out for a few hours.
I surfed with no weight in the front, and for my boat that is better. Weight in the front seems to just mess it up. My wife surfed for about 15 minutes without falling. She nearly was 'voted off'Be excellent to one another.

Thanks for the replies. I have been away from my computer for a couple days or so.
I like the idea about the powder coat. I do have to drop the tower allot to put it away. So I can see it getting all nicked up. As for polishing the tower It does seem like to much work. Who knows maybe I will get board during the winter and just try it. I can always buy a new one if I mess it up. I really do think it would look good with the colors of my boat. My Maxum 1900sr had a polished tower made by wakeair and it looked really good.
don't see the humor in it but I thought it may look good.
