Hopefully, it will be nice in the mornings for you. This weather pattern in the desert usually comes from moisture in the air that reacts with the heat, so in the mornings it is just fine, but better watch out by 3 or 4 in the afternoon. They were predicting the same for me last night, we went out and had no problems, just keep one eye on the horizon at all times, the wind can get nasty with those storms.
      Be excellent to one another.

That's what I'm hopeing for in the mornings......I've been in some nasty storms at Mead and Powell things can get ugly quick, good thing we beach 2 min from the marina and have casinos to hang out in if things do get nasty. I'm thinking this might be a good time to tow with the cover on so we have it for the week.

You need to start believing in the vortex. The vortex is a phenomenon first identified on our lake as we witnessed storm after storm heading to our lake, yet miraculously missing it. It used to be that we'd head off the lake at the first sign of trouble and then be frustrated when nothing materialized. Once we began to more fully understand the phenomenon, we began to believe. It wasn't until last year, when one of my buddies sat next to another fellow on their way to a fishing trip in extreme northern Canada that the term vortex was used to describe it.

I will caution you that the vortex can break down in the presence of non-believers and the results can be quite extreme. So, as tall suggests, keep an eye open for rapidly changing patterns that might indicate a breakdown and keep muttering to yourself "C'mon vortex, c'mon vortex". Chances are you will be spared most of the nasty weather and actually get some decent riding in as some of the non-believers head off the lake.

I believe in that phenomenon 100% but we refer to it as "The Halo". It got the name because so many times we have been on the water with nasty storms all around us and it's was perfect on the water like a halo around the lake that wont let the bad weather F-up our day. The lake gods will only shine down on people how believe in The Halo.

The only problem with this is when I was in college the same thing would happen on practice days. Rain all around the baseball field and would hold off until just after practice. We would draw rain turtles in the dirt to try to get it to rain (baseballs players form of a rain dance) but our coaches belief in the halo was stronger the our rain turtle most of the time

Apparently we weren't the only ones doing this one also....

It is amazing that it would hold off until 3 minutes after practice was over and then it would sprinkle then 10 minutes after that it would dump.
