    Good Tigé weekend on Camanche

It was a great day for Tigé owners on Camanche Sunday. Just after we launched, a nice 22i gave us a wave and a "nice boat" as they slid their boat into the water. As we were pulling up to retrieve our boat, a really clean maybe 1997 pre-model without a tower waved and said hi too...most Tigés I've seen there yet.

    Yep...it was a fun day.

I was at Hogan Friday thru Sunday and Surfdad wasn't out there that i saw. We had a good weekend surfing, three surf newbies got up and cut it up real good.

We're heading to Lake Don Pedro next Sunday. Never been there before, so we figured we'd try someplace new before we head to Bass Lake for a week in August. I heard New Hogans was pretty low....is it?

New Hogan is getting pretty low. The Acorn ramp is out so you have to use the main and auxilary ramps in the day use area. It's getting narrow in spots and hazards are popping up all over. Amazingly it was not that busy this past weekend, in fact it was the least busy i've ever seen it for a summer weekend.

And yes the idiots were out in force as usual. The worst are the freakin' lake lice at the mouth of the Acorn campground cove just waiting for the boats to come out so they can jump wakes. They churn the crap out of the water until a boat comes and then jump all over it!

I remember that.... I would cruise 5 mph until I got the the middle of the lake and then took off. They didn't seem to happy with me since I took away their fun.

I did that as well or waited until they chased someone else and then boogied in the opposite direction. Either way they churn the water to a caldron outside of the cove!

We did get one of them pretty good though We were already setup with ballast in the port & bow tanks and eight big guys in the boat when we came out. This one lice decided to target us and charged the wake just as we were hitting wave making speed. We had just hit 2200 rpm's testing the wave form when he hit it, never knew what hit him as he flew over and buried the nose and literally flipped! Oh well maybe he learned something, he was still in the water as we disappeared out of site.
