    Perfect Pass installed

Well, I finally got Perfect Pass installed and have been using it the past few weeks. Here are some shots of the process and finished product. I used a diamond tipped bit that worked great on fiberglass. Also, I finally got some good advice from the guys at Perfect Pass on how to fix my throttle cable problem where it would spring back and not hold a fixed position. It appears that more friction was needed via a tightened down cable fastener. Everytime I asked my dealer, they would say that it was a coast guard safety feature. Now, my throttle is still smooth, but holds at any position.

Did it make you as nervous as I was to drill that big hole in the bottom of your boat. I measured 20 times to cut once! Best investment I have made in the boat. Now you can watch your kids instead of the speedo!

Yes, that was definitely the toughest part. I had to get drunk (and I don't drink) in order to drill the hole . Seriously, I measured about that many times as well and drilled a very, very small pilot hole to make sure that I was in the right place before pulling out the big bit.

It works great! It is especially nice when wakesurfing. Without it, my hand was always on the throttle and my attention was always watching the speedo and tachometer as laserfish pointed out. With a GPS, I noticed that it is not too accurate at higher speeds, but what boat speedometer is?

You will love it. I can't imagine not having PerfectPass or some sort of speedset.

Yeah, the directions said to replace the tachometer, but Dog convinced me to replace the speedometer.

Is it working out for you? I use my tachometer a lot with PerfectPass. I find that I can get my boat to lock in at certain speeds a lot faster if I pay attention to the RPMs.

                        Fantastic Moki.
It's about as tricky a job as one can accomplish.
                        Ya pulled it off nicely.

                          Dog,
I like having my tach instead of the original speedometer. PP has a tachometer that shows all the time, but I am used to seeing it on a dial rather than digital. Also, it would bug me if the speedometers were not in sync.

                          Sticky,
                          Thanks for the compliment

It's the same one I have. Let me tell you it's waaaaay over-engineered. Moki and I could do parasailing from it (but probably not together)
