Heads up On Boats of Neveda- Stay Away!

Heads Up on Boats of Nevada in Henderson.

I had made the mistake of trying them for service.

    Major Service.

One of my motor mounts had broken because it was a inch and a half too far forward. And the perfect pass was locked up and I needed to replace the prop shaft.

It sat for a long time ( from Nov) as they could not get a seal from Tige. Then Winter came so I left it there until May.

While In route to pick the boat they changed the invoice from what was Emailed to me ( They said they sent a second email invoice ) to the tune of over two hundred dollars.

    Ok So I paid.

When Tom takes me to get my boat: my 8’ Bimini is gone, my box anchor is gone and every Fusion Speaker grille is missing!

Boats of Nevada is situated in a remote warehouse area and they keep the boats between two rows of warehouses where they cannot be seen.

The guy Tom, tells me that they have a real theft problem there and he showed me a Yellow and White Tige that had all its amps ripped out!

No one can find my anchor or Bimini for over a month and a half!!!

When they finally find it I had to drive another 600 miles to get it!

I still have fusions speakers with no grilles! Matt has zero pull with Fusion and cant get them to even return his calls. yesI have the Email stating this.

Then after all of this today I get an email asking me to pay the invoice again!

I had not once mentioned this to any of you, but today's email from Leanne asking me to pay again was the "icing on the cake".

Boats of Nevada is so negligent they don’t know where the boats are, who has paid, what parts get put back on which boats and have a huge theft problem.

I can supply E Mails upon request on ALL of this.

I even ended up with a panel on my boat that is not mine!

DO NOT Use Boats of Neveda.

Wow, I thought rather highly of them before this. They should have been installing camera's around if there is a problem..... Has anyone else had problems????

Ya I agree. That sounds pretty shady that they have a theft problem w/out cameras or some sort of security. I have heard nothing but rave reviews of BoN on here so this is kind of shocking..
If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..

Having just received an email back from Les, I feel compelled of course, to respond to Les’s frustration and anger.

We have been in business for 13 years as a Tige’ dealer. No number of customer satisfaction awards will erase the situation that Les went through with his boat this past winter.

Other than our moving into a new location during the time that Les’s boat was here, I have no excuses for his bimini and anchor getting lost in the shuffle of the move.

Yes, we have a security issue here in Las Vegas. If anyone has any ideas to keep these maggots from hitting every business in the city at one time or another, I am all ears. We have live security every night and still we get hit. The good news is when it happens my customers get hooked up with all new swag!

Les, we have been exchanging emails regarding your equipment as well as the speaker grills and you did not indicate from your correspondence that you were angry enough to tee me up on this or any other forum.

I apologize for not living up to your expectations.

          Sincerely,

          Matt Dettman

Matt, I know that live security guards are nice but they are lazy. A security camera would be great and signs posted around the compound indicated that there are camera's on site. Motion sensors that turn on lights would be great also. There might even be something that will have someone notified that somthing is in the compound also.

As for the security guards, they don't do anything other than patrol on a hourly basis (they suck in the first place). The thieves already know when they will come around.

Barbwire on the fence does help also.

I hope this will help a little bit.....

Again from experience, I do not leave any loose items in the boat. I remove all ropes, anchors, skis, tubes(even though some wish they were stolen) boards etc from the boat. I even take the 2 bimini's off. I can understand the frustation on the theft and the redrive to Vegas.

I would still like to know how you feel the boat was repaired.

I am not a fan of how they leave boats out but I have not had an issue. Only time my boat had an extended stay was when the tranny was replaced and had no issues. For all my service, I have made appointments and have recieved my boat back the same day. Last time i had a lot on the list and they kicked butt and had the boat done in one day.

Hope it all works out for you Wake, Still need to hook up with you and Wrangler in Havasu. Dinner at Javelina's and compare stupid things we have done to our boats. Have a few good ones from the last 4 days, unfortuneatley the camera is at the bottom of the lake.

Wow, I will once again state loudly and clearly that I put my full faith and trust into EVERY member at Boats of Nevada. Now onto the theft matter...Of coarse there is not enough room to keep every boat under lock and key here, have you any clue about the price of property here in the last few years? No dealership in town is able to do this. Sorry you had an unpleasant experience but I can't relate.

Hopefully Tige will make it right, they have a lot to loose with poor customer satisfaction. $hit happens and it sounds like insurance from the dealer will replace it. Good luck.

Sounds like there are two sides to every story. I hope they get it worked out on both sides.

Sounds like unfortunate circumstances surrounding your experience Wake. I bought boat from Matt at boats of Nevada and have him service it as well. My experiences have been nothing but positive. I have referred several people to him and will continue to do so.

                          my is this:

consider this experience to be out of the ordinary and give Matt another chance. I'm sure he'll do you right.

I think that is a classy response. He apologized, admitted there was a problem and wants to do better. Most average dealers would rest on the praises of their other customers, or the CSI award they got. Matt is truly concerned that this happened and I am sure will do everything to rectify the problem.

My boat will be there next week, and I am sure the service will be terrific.

I wonder what kind of booby trap could be set up to inflict pain on the thieves, without hurting the boat. Something like leaving a few live rattlesnakes in the amp storage.

I think that the area where the boats are stored could use some extra lights and motion detecting lights are a good idea.

Live guards are good, but they don't really want to run across these thieves, many are armed and not afraid to hurt someone. These guys are usually 60 years old, and just trying to make a little before they retire (my own father did that for a while).
                            Be excellent to one another.

You need one of those exploding James-Bond style anti-theft devices. Yeah, it will total your boat, but you'll have the satisfaction of knowing the thief didn't get away with it. Insurance will cover the rest
