Kids do make the trip Tall; wouldn't be much of a trip without them. Never been to Powell but would like to, just to far to pull the boat unless we can get away for a week or so. Great shots.

Looks awesome! We are heading to Powell next week. Staying on a house boat for 10 days. My brother -in-law is bringing his two waverunners and if I can get my TAPS fixed by Saturday we will take my Tige if not we will bring his mom's IO.

I'm really excited I've never been to Powell before. I am expecting extreme heat!

Taps fixed? A tige with broken taps is still better than ant I/O. Take the Tige
My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.

I agree but my TAPS are stuck in wakeboard so at higher speeds I porpoise and at that I point I might as well be driving and IO

If they can't get it fixed, can you drain the fluid and pull the taps plate all the way down and then refill the fluid? I don't know that this is possible, just thinking out loud here...

five o'clock- Since your 21i is a 2004, I assume that your taps is electric, not hydraulic. Most of the time, the problems are in the controls. If you can't get it fixed in time, you can take the actuator off and using two wires and the battery, drive the actuator to the extended position. Reinstall and you will have use of your boat with taps in ski mode. You could also remove the taps fuse so that it doesn't retract to that position when turning the boat off. I hope that this make sense. I did this last year while I was waiting for replacement parts for mine and it was really pretty easy.

Timmy, good thought but I have the electric motor not the hydrolic.

Paublo, I was told that the TAPS motor has gone out. And that it needs to be replaced. So I'm not sure if your idea will work either.

The good news is that the local dealer has the motor in stock its just a question as to weather or not they can get my boat in before Saturday.

So the guys at Wakeboard and Waterski Specialty rock. They were able to get my boat in and get the TAPS fixed a just under two days with out an appointment. Powell here we come!

                      Thanks guys!

The bad news. The problem was the TAPS Control box under the dash. To replace the part it cost $455.00 plus tax.

I tried to see if it was covered under warranty but they said probably not. Part of the problem is that I bought my boat in Michigan from a dealer that is no longer a Tige dealer. WWS told me that it has to go through them if it is warranty. The other problem is that my boat is a 2004 so they figure the warranty is expired but I bought it brand new in 2006. The dealer who is no longer a dealer had it and never sold it sat in his show room for two years. So I should only be about a year and a hlf into my warranty.

Bill at WWS said I should call Andrew at Tige to see what he can do. What do you guys think? Should this be covered?

Great that it is fixed. Check with Andrew. I thought that the TAPS also has a warrantee from its mfgr that is at least 2 years. If the boat was new in 2006 when you bought it, it should still be covered.

I would. I think the warranty covers three years from purchase.... Call Andrew, he will help you out... Might have to prove that you purchased it sooner but you should also have the paperwork lying around the house anyways..... Let us know the outcome.

So, Andrew left me a message explaining that this is not covered under warranty. In the message he said that the TAPS system is only covered for 1 year. I don't agree with this and have left him a message to discuss it further. Hopefully this doesn't just turn into a game of phone tag.

I understand that things break or go bad but I bought this boat a year and a half ago I would think anything that would go out and cost me $450.00 to get fixed would at least be partially covered. I sure hope Tige does the right thing and stands behind their product.

I will keep you updated as we progress with this issue.

The one year warranty on the Taps system is probably pretty standard for that type of equipment. Best of luck with Tige.
