I am not disagreeing with you. I am just posting from wood sites the other common names. Not my fault one of the common names is African Teak I also posted sometimes it is not the best substitute for teak.
    Let it be!!!

The funny thing here is that the reference that I posted earlier in this thread compares it to Red Oak... Just too funny now....

          Common Names:
          African Teak
          Abang
          Iroko
          Kambala
          Lusanga
          Mandji
          Mokongo
          Molundu

          Mvule
          Mvuli
          Odum
          Rokko
          Semli
          Tule mufala

No doubt it was used because it was less expensive. Quick search was 1/2 inch teak boards are about $32/sq ft and Iroko is about $15/sq ft
Not one of the common names is TEAK. If Tige put down African Teak it wouldn't be false advertising but they didn't. Tige used the word TEAK witch the swimdeck is not it is African teak witch is not teak, huge difference.

This is how I look at it, you go buy a Lexus and in one year the emblems all fall off and you found out you got a hyundai not even a Toyota

Good luck. That will take a lot of postings and dedication to get to that point.

Your first clue should have been that the car wasn't stolen. A lexus and a toyota would have been stolen and driven to TJ within the first 6 months.

At least it had the word teak in the common name unlike your car story..

And this is the last I am posting on this subject. Good luck with your wood.

Where is that drink of choice thread. That is where I am heading..

Remember, many of these items don't show up until the products have been used for a while. Now you know why everyone is going with fiberglass.

I love my platform for what it does... allows my kids to have a place to jump off of tirelessly and it acts as a utility for them to get back into the boat rather easily.
