New Tige Owner - Boat sitting in service!

We purchased a 2007 RZ2 two weeks ago. The boat isn't even fully broke in. It has a total of 6 hours. After taking it out for the first time, we noticed the fuel gauge was not working. We took it back to the dealer to fix, last thursday (1 week ago). After sitting there for three days, they said it was the fuel indicater. While fixing this, they found antifreeze in the bottom of the boat. They tell us they have never seen this before and are not sure what they need to do to fix it. They need to contact the manufacturer. Now, it has been one week and our new boat is still sitting in service. We stopped into the dealer yesterday and they hadn't even started working on it. Also, this is the utah dealer who is no longer a tige' dealer.

We are so frustrated! Does anyone have any experience with antifreeze leaking in the bottom of the boat? This doesn't sound good... for a brand new boat costing 70K!

RZ2's don't use anti-freeze that I know of. That seems very, very odd! Has it been sitting there since winter possibly?

Do you have a closed cooling system? I would be surprised if you do, since they are typically installed in salt water environments. Unless you plan on wakeboarding the Great Salt Lake . The only other reason would be if the boat was delivered winterized with antifreeze in the engine. They should b e able to check that out themselves without checking with the manufacturer. Nothing more is frustrating than dropping $70K and not being able to use your boat during precious summer time. Shoot Andrew, one of the moderators, a PM if you do not get a good response from Taylors, Tige should be motivated to make sure the dealer switch over is smooth.

Welcome to the board and post some pictures of your boat!

Sounds like just a loose clamp. All they need to do is Pressurize the system and look for the leak. Good luck. I dont know if not being a Tige dealer anymore has anything to do with the delay.

          Congrats on the new boat

Does that have the 360HP engine by chance or just the 340HP?

It is a 6.0 HP with a closed cooling system. They just found the antifreeze problem. It was a cut in the line, they replaced the hose and say the problem is fixed. However, the problem with the gas guage is not fixed. It is the fuel sender and they are having problems with Tige send them the part. They have known they needed this part for a WEEK! We asked for the numbers to contact Tige direct. They did not give it to us and now we are told they will have the part and have it fixed for us by tomorrow afternoon. . . 8 days later? What is up with that? I am NOT impressed! It seems like after the sale of the boat..... they do not care! T

Does the fuel gauge not register at all? Mine works but it's pretty crappy.

The tank is flat and long so it's not easy to get a good reading. I normally have to idle fwd and rev it in reverse for a half second to get the gas to level out before I can get a any sort of reading. Otherwise it reads full all the time, until I'm out of gas then it reads empty.

Funny that they said that. There are board rack problems that my dealer is saying they are in contact with Tige and they have been sending some of the parts......

It does not read anything, it stays on empty. Dealer looked at it and told us the fuel sender is not working ?????

What is wrong w/ your fuel gauge? I had the same problem. Fuel gauge was broken when we took delivery. The needle has never moved above empty.. ever. For the first 32 hours we just used the 6gph rule to be safe and never filled more than 30 gallons.

We just took our boat in yesterday to get the 20 hour service done, and a few other little things here and there, so hopefully my dealer fixes the fuel gauge and then I'll let you know what they do..
If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..

Youll find that no ones fuel gauges really work

Similar situation here. I don't mean to scare you but I bought my boat from a dealer whom is no longer a Tige dealer and have had nothing but problems with service after the purchase.

I found the new local dealer and received the service that I expected from Tige. My suggestion would be to look for the new dealer in your area.

Mine stopped working, the sending gauge is reporting 1/2 tank and I figured I have maybe 12 gallons in it at the most. When I am driving it reads Full all the time, sitting still it goes between full and 1/2. I will take it back once the season is over since it used to work really well!
