I would say rarely is it necessary. In fact, the only time I ever approach my rider at speed is to put myself between the rider and an oncoming boat. Even then, I come off plain, do my 180 and go straight back.
Power turns create more problems, especially in close quarters.
I totally agree. I have only done two powerturns with my boat. 1) Because my son face planted, came out of his bindings, and wound up with w 3rd degree concussion (we are wearing a helmet now ) and had to get to him because he didn't look good and 2) boat driving directly towards my son didn't know he was there.
da.bell I totally agree with you. I can not sit here and say I never powerturn but it is rare. Only do it if I think it is the only way to accomplish getting to my rider. AND while I am confessing I have towed tubers. BUT. I also have one of those fake glasses, noses, and mustaches I wear while I tow.

It has to be the oil pressure or trans oil pressure because he said he had to stop the motor for the alarm to turn off. If it was the depth finder it would have turned off.
Everything happens for a reason

I agree. As soon as water is back under the transducer, the sounder will detect depth. If all the gauges showed correct readings, then I would say transmission but I was told once that the Trans is not linked to the alarm sounder, just the red light

The only way to get it to stop was to shut the engine off. I didn't see any warning lights on the dash and all of the fluids were at normal levels when checked. Temp gauge was normal as well.
I am taking it in to the dealer because the TAPS isn't working so I will ask them as well.
I hope its nothing major I am heading to Powell in a couple of weeks.
