da.bell I'm not involved in the ordeal that you guys are dealing with, since I have an '07. But I just wanted to say, you really stepped up here and I hope you guys get your racks taken care of b/c Tige is lagging w/ replacing them. Props to you for taking some initiative and tyring to get something done!

Wake, thank you. Dog suggested it and chpthril has already encountered and suggested it also. I guess someone needed to do it but they also need some kudo's on this also.

We will see what comes of it.

                weird it took so long.
I had a rack break on my 03 shortly after purchase. It was same as owners reunion and my dealer went to shop and got me a new one that next day.
I later had a crack in my tower that year.
I got a new 04 tower, but it took about 3 mo's for the whole process.
                --
It sounds like your issues are more common than mine and I would expect that tige will replace your racks w/new.
                --
have any of you checked welds on where the rack mounts thru in that area?????? it have to have flexed prior to breaking one would think?

this is where my tower welds broke on the dame bad rack side.

Because of this issue, I'm losing a little faith in Tige. I really hope they step up and resolve these outstanding issues in a timely manner. I know Bobby has a boat full every weekend...8-10+ people (doesn't exactly leave a lot of space for awkward wakeboards). Not having board racks (especially when the issue has been known about for quite some time) is absolutely unacceptable. He should have nothing short of painted uprights w/ new racks delivered and installed quickly and w/o discussion....anything less and I wouldn't blame him for walking away from the brand totally. This isn't a matter of user error. These things snapped right off due to a blatant design flaw. He has been a HUGE advocate for Tige and our local dealership...really above and beyond in my opinion. It's simply not right that he hasn't had at least one replaced (happened several months ago), little alone both.

                  Just my .02

Jeff T, I can understand your issue here. There is really no excuse for this but Tige is doing the right thing. IMO, the problem is not your dealership nor Tige right now. The problem is inventory does not meet demand right now. This causes many problems, as I am sure you are aware. Patience and understanding that Tige will do the right thing here is needed. I know that we have waited awhile and others have waited longer than they should have I am sure. But, we all still need to be an advocate of Tige and this issue will be taken care of by Tige.

Does anyone have a picture of the racks and up rights that are snapping off? I have a 07 20V but it was built in late 06 - so don't know if I should be worried about getting someone knocked on the noggin.

Pic of 07.....note the circled lock-down handle http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/atta...7&d=1182289969

06's have a slide release that locks the rack which leaves two 1/4 dia bolt to hold all the load and the two bolts are shearing off http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/atta...2&d=1177890516

Here is an interesting change in manufacturing at Tige. Lets hope that this new consolidated departement is successful.

Agreed. I would be interested in knowing how much communication has been made with the customers having these issues. Anyone want to post up? Correct me if I'm wrong...but this issue has been known about for quite some time. With such a risk to person and property, why would they have not immediately issued a fix (similar to a car dealership) upon the realization of a problem. At a minimum, they could have said, "Hey...we know it is a problem...we are working on a solution..."

Don't get me wrong...I'm still a BIG advocate of Tige. I love mine and I'm on #2. Probably won't be my last either. I'm just saying...this is a very big deal and w/o board racks, you lose overall functionality of a very expensive investment that is only really usable for a finite amount of time each year. I know if it were me...and I wouldn't look forward to taking my boat out, crammed with people ready to enjoy the day and have to fumble around with boards that are sitting in the floor, on seats, etc...but that is just me.

Props to you for stepping up to help get this resolved. Hope that everyone is happy in the end...

                              Go Tige

I always found it easier to be proactive towards CSI then to wait for it to drop and then think about what to do to fix it. I never liked being behind the 8-ball.

Our issue just happened last week so I cannot complain at all about the time frame yet. I would be dancing on someone's head if I were Bobby..2 months without board racks is ridiculous. I would just buy some racks from wakeside and send the invoice to the dealer!

Our dealer has gotten back to us in a timely manner. He wants us to take the racks off and get them to the shop where they will weld the weak link to the plate. I would rather just receieve new uprights because I am afraid the welds will crack and this will become an ongoing problem year to year to get it fixed.
