Another 06 board rack snaps off!

Well, it finally happened to me, one of my board racks on my 06 24ve snapped off last week. I was the only one in the boat and it was the port side rack so nobody got hurt. The 2 boards came out ok and the rack didn't seem to do any gelcoat damage.

So what is the fix for this? We will talk with our dealer, but I know it happened to a bunch of you so what was the result?

The dealership will either have 06 racks on hand that they will be able to provide you or you will have to wait for an 07. The 07 will have to have a hole milled (cut) to fit the handle screw (same type of handle screw that is on your tower). So, it is a long wait to get it and good luck.

Sorry to be provide you the bad news but chpthril and I are bothing having this issue and this is exactly what we are having done.

Great, thanks for the response. I don't know if I would want another 06 rack, whats the point it will probably just snap again because of Tige's S**tty design.

The 06 will be welded but eventually they will bust also. The 07 is better IMO. Yes, it is EXTREMELY frustrating but it will get done. All my friends that have ridden my boat in the mean time understand what is going on so I am not that embarrassed by it. But, the good thing is.... The dealership and Tige are getting it done. Not the fast way possible but they are getting it done.

I thought the rack was from wakedesigns, but the mounting fabrication was done by Tige?

Let us know how things turn out. I'm not really happy with the speed of this entire warranty work but at least I didn't give my boat to the dealer for something like this. They would still have had the boat. See, there are always worse things that could happen.

Lee would know who this manufacturer is..... I am not 100% sure on skylon either. I could have been dreaming that it was.....

Plus Tige should have gone with another manufacturer because it is pretty easy to say that 2 short screws are not going to be enough to hold 2 boards while you are driving down the lake.

Agreed but the makers of the rack did make the correction as you can see in the 07 racks. IMO, this is a safety issue and someone could have gotten really hurt if the racks fell off. I know my wake-board has rails that will cut my vinyl within seconds if I am not careful and I have already accidentally kicked my wake-board and left a huge gash in my leg. I couldn't image what would have happen if that rack fell down on someone's head.

I'm in the same situation. over two and a half months later. Tige may not have created the board rack but they were the ones who attached them to my boat placed the Tige Logo on them and charged a pretty penny for them so I would call them Tige's board racks.

What to do about it? I guess just wait. After being upset with the idea of another weekend with boards hitting everything in the boat I decided to start looking at other brands. Leaning towards a SAN right now but very early stages of looking.

Wish Tige was taking care of the problem.

What have you waited 2 1/2 months on? what is your dealer telling you? what have they done for you? have you contacted Tige ( Andrew and/or Harvey) directly?

I have gotten a very quick response from them on mine and we are working on a solution that will work for me as I don't like the 07 style and don't want to modify my up-rights
