last year when I took my 21i in for it's 1st 25hr check up. The dealer welded the locking pin assembly on top and bottom.never said anything to me about it .When I brought it up he said they have been snapping off.It still swings fine but is this the final fix?

The solution to this was to weld the two pieces together. It would be interesting to see what your dealer did. Do you have any pictures? Are you having any problems with it???

I don't have any pictures of it and it seems to work fine although some times the passenger side won't lock when swung in to the "inside' position.I will talk to them about this. They have been really good about taking care of things. Last time I was in the shop I did not look at the 07's in detail but I did notice the tower supports are differant is that a result of the problems?

No, the problem is that the screws that Wake Designs used screws that were too small and eventually would break and the rack would fly off and do damage.

The dealer is suppose to mail them back to Tige where Tige spends two days welding them and mails them back to the dealer. Andrew posted on this thread of what to do. However, it is still taking longer than it should be.... Not sure if it is my dealer or Tige now....

Well, I stopped by the dealership and Tige will be busy next week Capital Water Sports is going to be getting 7-10 2006 racks to fix.

Okay, here is the picture of the rack that I just got. Apparently, it's the same as Chpthril's after modifications. Now I wonder if Chpthril had anything to do with it being done....

Well, I haven't see any royalties yet but I did illustrate to Andrew and Harvey what I was going to do

Well, I for sure didn't do it. If so, I would have already drilled the uprights to insert that handle screw (I have no idea what it is called ). That task will be left to a machine shop this winter when I get the uprights bead blasted to remove the chipping powder coat. That last one still pisses me off so far....

Guess what DaBell, the 08 swivel board racks now lock on the outside, just like the set they sent you. This actually makes it easier to get the threaded lock-handle started.

Still not a fan of the screw in handle but it looks like Tige is working through it's problems.

I thought that they sent me the 2008's. The paperwork said 2007 but I think Andrew might have pulled them off the racks to get them out to me and "accidentally" grabbed the 2008's.... shhhhhhh!!!! The secret is safe with me.

Andrew, I'm new to the forum and own a 2006 24VE. I heard a rumor there was a problem with the 06 racks but hadn't thought much of it until this last Saturday when the port-side rack busted off. Fortunately there were no injuries to life, limb or Tige. I found this post detailing the same problem and wondered if there had been an update in the last year. Will Tige provide reimbursement for the cost of upgrading the rack? (i.e. machine shop weld etc) Any info would be helpful. Love the boat but was shocked when I inspected the carnage and discovered two flimsy bolts as the "weakest link". Major engineering over-sight on the part of the designer. Let me know if you can help.

Or the dealer you bought the boat from.
