Spotter? In Colorado you have to have a minimum of 3 people if you want to do any watersports. A flagger (spotter) that tells the driver the person is down and holds up the 12x12 orange flag to let other boats know the person is in the water, a driver and the skier/rider/etc.

But, don't waive the flag. That is a sign of distress.

4th of july this chick in a bayliner cruises too close to us while we are just sitting in the middle of the lake. It is the second time she has done this, about 50 feet away (state law here is 150 feet), and I put my arms in the air as if to say 'what are you doing?' while shrugging my shoulders.

Turns out they then recognize me and they live in my neighborhood. Luckily, I had all 5 fingers extended at all times. I did not tell them what they had done wrong...they were just totally ignorant. We exchanged pleasantries and they went tubing along their way.

ahh the all too familiar stupidity in masses at the ramp/dock thread. man i've got sooo many stories its ridiculous. in social psych they call it herd mentality. people get together in a group and all of a sudden they become jackasses heehaw. i think we need to make boater's safety courses and a mandatory don't be "that guy" 101 class for all people to take before being allowed anywhere near a lake or the water. that or tige' should start making cannons a new '08 option.
