    Two questions about Tige 22V

I have the following questions about the 2004 Tige 22V and if someone can answer them for me, I will appreciate it very much.

    1. What is the height of the boat on the trailer with the tower folded
down? In my garage, I have plenty of length and width but only 6'10" of
clear entry height. I must be sure that the boat will go in there.

    2. Is the standard stereo unit equipped with accessible
jacks for connecting my Apple Ipod MP3 player?

Thanks for your assistance and I look forward to your reply.

I can only try to help with the 2nd one. I dont think there is a jack to hook up an iPod so what I did was buy a thing from bestbuy or comp usa and it hooks into the top and you turn it on and set the radio to 88.1 - 88.7 FM and I just leave my iPod playing songs in the little glovebox thing where the radio head piece thing is. Hard to explain but thats the best I could help...

Stretch, you could get an FM modulator, but it doesn't have the best reliability. A better way to connect an i-pod is to buy two connectors. The first is a cable made by Alpine.(I got mine from Al and Eds Autosound) It connects to the back of your receiver in the CD changer port. The wire has an RCA connection at the other end. Next, Monster Cable makes a wire that connects to the RCA wires, then to your i-pod. It has a six foot length, so you can mount the i-pod anywhere. It works great!

If you have the Clarion XMD3, it should have a set of RCA inputs on the back. I do not know what your ipod has to output music.

It depends on the type of tower and trailer you have. I have a 2004 22V with a Samson tower sitting on a 2004 Extreme trailer. With the jack all the way down, I can fit it under my carport I measured and it was 6' 11" and I needed all of that.

I would recommend going to a dealer and measure it on the trailer with the tower you are getting just to make sure (that's my type A personality slipping out).

          Good luck.

I need to pick up my boat tonight from storage as I'm bringing it back to the dealer tomorrow for its 20 hour service. I'll measure it for you.

I have a 2003 22v with the Metcraft tower on a Dorsey trailer. I think it's going to be a really tight squeeze if it fits at all.

I would also be worried about keeping that tower folded for an extended period of time. In my boat, when folded, the tower rests on the vinyl seats and leaves an imprint after just a few minutes. The imprint goes away after a few seconds due to the elasticity of the vinyl.

I couldn't tell you what would happen after 1 week of it folded down, but I think it would cause permanent damage after 6 months of winter storage.

My tower is also loaded with speakers, lights and bimini top. I'm guessing to the tune of an additional 40 to 50 lbs.

smendez, make a 2x4 rest that keeps the tower an inch or 2 above the seat. Use a scroll saw to cut out a curve in the wood. The tower sits right in the slot. Works great!

we had 2 RCA connections mounted on the right side under the dash to plug the ipod in with a compatible cable. The ipod fits nicely in the mesh pocket below the throttle. Works great and saves on transporting cd's etc... With the driver's remote we can access and control everything from the seat and then everyone has their favorite music at their fingertips. I would highly recommend it.

                  Stretch:

I'm sorry, but my plans were all messed up and I ended up having to rush my boat to the dealer on Tuesday Morning. I have not forgotten about that measurement that I promised you. If you're still interested, I can get it Friday night or Saturday morning when I pick up the boat.

                  Just let me know.

                  Tkuzma:

Is there anyway you can post a picture of that 2x4? I'm interested in the setup.

                  Thanks

My tower and trailer set up may be different, but I clear within a hair's width of my 6'10" garage door. I have a 22V on an Extreme trailer with a Phat Budde tower. To get it in, I have to put a 8" drop hitch on my 2wd expedition to get the bow low enough to clear. When it is in the garage, I then place a stand I made from 2x4's and plywood to keep the tower off of the upholstery. I will try to get some photos this weekend of the stand I built.

For your Stereo, you should have an auxilliary input for your stereo head unit. I have a Sony head unit which is different, but it also has an Aux. input. I plug in a RCA type of jack, and then plug in my Satellite stereo through there. Your Ipod will do the same. You may need to go to Radio Shack to get a 2.5mm Mini jack out to RCA, to plug in, but it will work.

Smendez, I have the 24V with the Phat Budde tower. I have plenty of room to put the 2x4 under the tower when it is down. Which tower and boat do you have? Your tower may overlap the back seats too far to use the 2x4.

It would be awesome to the entire group (not just me ) if you and flatpack could post some pictures.

In case you're still lurking around this website.

Yesterday I measured the highest point of the boat hitched to the truck (Tower down).

I measure 6'-11". Now I didn't get a level and a plumb bob to make it official, but I think you get the idea.

                          Best of luck.
