My guess is that it's the 350 Magnum. That was the standard engine at the time.

That's all they list for my model from that year as well, and I don't have any of those.

Here are somethings to check on what I have seen with my 1997 2150i

- cavitation while surfing / rough water - need put some weight under the glove compartment.
- if you have fat saces in the boat you will need to set the taps on 1 or the wake could be slightly washed out at wakeboard speed
- if the taps guage does not work then there is a sensor in one of the hydraulic arm or check the hydraulic fluikd under the glove compartment
- the release for the rear storage will never work correctly
- check the impeller and belts.
- there is a plastic pulley on the raw water pump. I would suggest you get that replaced with metal. It disintegrated on me last year.
- if your center windshield falls below the drivers glass(it gets stuck), need to take off one of the windshields and reposition so it will not do that.
- find out if the steering cable or throddle cable has been replaced. If not have a spare. my steering cable went out last year and the throddle cable went out a week or so ago. There is a brass fitting that you will need to get with the throddle cable as he original one probably needs replaced.

As far as your ballast goes, you want a 50/50 distribution of weight (front/back) and you will have more fexibility with TAPS.

looking to by a 97 tige

I was told no wood in the floor of tige's is this correct, the boat looks great and I'm testing it tomorrow. 21 foot open bow want 15, going to offer 13. thoughts on tige?

One thing to definately look for is maintainance records. when I bought mine, the guy gave me all the records (of course he didn't do any of it himself so that helped). If the guy claims he's done it all himself, ask him specific questions, like where is the raw water impellar, where is the oil drain....you should be able to get a decent feel for if he is BS'ing you or not.

Then make sure to drive the boat well, not just a putter around the bay. Be there when its started cold. Look for oil leaks. how clean is the engine? How do the fluids look? Look at it like buying a used car. The more closely you look the happier you will be. Most of all, be ready to walk away if you need to.

All that said, I love mine, it has a great wake, great power, I am completely happy with my purchase, almost 1 year after the fact.

looking to buy a 97 tige, looks great and testing it tomorrow, 21 foot open bow. I was told there is no wood in the floors is this correct. interior is in excellent shape always garage kept, motor is really clean. He is asking 15, if all maintenance records are there what is this worth.

It has plywood floor but composite stringers. It could be well worth it but be diligent in checking the details.
I'm happy with my 1996 (did get it cheep) but it has needed lots of love and still needs more!

Take some pictures of it hen you go look at it. Be surprised what all we can see from pictures. On a low hr boat that old all depends on how it was treated. Mine only has a touch over 200 hrs on it, but the man kept it in very good shape. I only had to change on the VDO gauges and add a piece to the windshield to keep it from falling through.

Course now I've added a tower, speakers, 2 batts and a few other upgrades.

Guess I should say on an older boat I wouldn't buy it if I couldn't take it for a test drive.
