Welcome to the Dark Side of the Force. I have the original 5GB iPod, and 2 first gen Nanos. And, I still have my original Sony Walkman...model number WM-1. And, it still works. Both Nanos and my iPod fit in the cassette opening on that sucker. Times change, eh?...

I was out boating with it last night and it locked up on me towards the end of our trip. It was pretty rough water coming in, does this happen often? I had to let the battery run out before it would reset.

Make sure you have the latest itunes, and connect your pod to your pc. click update in the summary tab. Make sure you have the latest ipod software.

When that happens again, and it should be rare if you have the latest ipod software, you can do a reset. It is different on several ipods. Usually hold down menu and center button. But check apple.com/support for how to quickly reset your ipod.

Where do you get these 80GB ipods? I have 88.36 GB's in my iTunes, you think they'll come out with a 100GB soon?

My Ipod was a casualty of the monster wave that came over the bow. It survived the wave but flew out of the mount into the 2 inches of standing water. Now it is just the yellow screen of death. Lights on but no songs are home.
              Let it be!!!

I'd drop all those musicals you have in your iTunes
