My youngest he wants to do it and tries to but he just is not coordinated enough and he needs to work on building some strength to do it. He cry's because he can't do it so we have two extremes. My oldest tells us he will do it when it is just the family, the four of us but I don't believe that to be true. His standard answer is no. So we have to tell him to bad get out there and do it. He always has fun after that. So guess what, next trip he is going in even if he says NO. He can say no all the way to the water and the end of the rope. He won't get back in until he accepts the fact that he can get up and does it. I must be a bully dad. But I know he will love it once he knows he can do it.

Congrats coach on having a son willing to get out there and do it. That is great.
I have always pushed my kids, and they thank me later. Everything is hard until its easy. One thing that I also do, is pull in a cove, and put the board or whatever on them with you in the water. Teach them how to relax with the proper position in the water. Teach them to hold the rope with 2 hands, and trust the life jacket. I take just a rope handle in the water, and hold one end, and have them hold the other and just float and trust the jacket. They get scared and try to swim with 1 hand. Teach them all of this with YOU in the water, then get em going. It will help alot. With my 2 year old, I have been doing this in my living room. She puts the board on, and I give her the handle and have her pretend. Step by step.

Nice pic's ragboy. I like to see children attempting sports and staying active in sports. It keeps them away from trouble and out of trouble while building a solid family foundation. Looks like you are doing well.

Your daughter has some scary hair going on!!! he he he She must have just woke up.

My wife and I always joke about our "circus animals", aka kids. The older one will try most things and the younger one watches him do it. After that, the younger one takes it to all kinds of extremes (hence our constant trips to the emergency room and one near-fatal accident).

But, the most fun I have is when I'm watching the two of them work together to try and figure something out.

Must be. My youngest son woke up this morning exactly with the same style. Only a little shorter.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with the hair. It was just scary.

My 12 year old has been the least interested in water sports until this year. Last year, I finally got him to go wakeboarding, but he was just happy to get up and only go once. This year he has picked up wakeskating, is trying to jump on the wakeboard, and two days ago on his 3rd try, he threw in the rope and surfed for 2 minutes. Ahaney, I think that every kid has his timing and he will pick up on it soon.

I would say it was like that for me at the end of the last season, and the begining of this. My girls were losing interest, and only RJ was the total die hard. INT turned that all around, and my older girls meeting the hoffman girls. They are all die hards now. It brings a tear to my eye, its a beautiful thing, I am a lucky guy. Hopefully it stays that way. Chico State has a wakeboard team, and my oldest girls are already talking about it. How cool is that?

I hope they get a scholarship. With the amount of children that you have, you are going to need it.

That is interesting that they have a wakeboarding team. How competitive are they?

Yeah, I will definitely be putting out a chunk of change. But can't think of much better to spend it on.
