so i usually board at 23.5-24.5, depending on the weight i have in the boat. but yesterday we whent out early in the morning for a ride. it was way smooth, but it felt like i was going slower, even though we had speedset at 23.5. it was just kinda wierd. im wondering if it was cuz the water was so freakin smooth or just something mental. but then my buddy felt like it was slower to. the wake was formed up like always though.

Just what you suspect. Because of the smooth and glassy conditions and more consistent ride it gives the impression that you are going slower. It's just and illusion. But a very nice one. Hope you had good riding...............I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead! -

If you slalom ski down a course with a headwind it feels like your going 100mph.
