Now I am all confused. I should just call my boat dealership and tell them the facts. I think they have had the rack for 2 weeks (actually, nearly two weeks now) and they haven't heard anything from Tige yet..... Hum.... Tige can't be that busy with all that rain there......

I hope others with the 06 Swivels are being replaced. I had one side fly back nearly hitting two passengers in the head. This could have been a huge issue for Tige. It had two boards on it so it had some weight to it. The second broke off with only one board on it and I was able to, while driving grab it before it fell onto the side of the boat. This would be a focus point for me if I were Tige since someone could have been killed by 40 lbs of metal and boards with sharp edges flying off the side of the boat towards people's heads.

Again I read about the issue here and proactively asked my dealer to find out more info if my boat needed adjustment before either of them broke off.

Just glad no one was hurt on my boat. People were choosing not to sit behind the remaining board rack for fear of decapitation.

I think we all understand why no one wants to be behind them . I am amazed the Tige didn't come out with a recall on these yet.... I know if it were one of the major car manufacturers, they could have recalled every single car and notifying them via mail that there is a recall....

I don't think the car manufacturers would voluntarily do recalls if the government agencies didn't make them do it. People like Ralph Nader can't get enough publicity, so you won't see them do it either.

So true... But Tige is one of the leading boat manufacturers and I don't understand why they wouldn't step up when there is an issue like this. I am sure not everyone is having a problem but being proactive would be much better than being reactive.

                    Let's see....

$65K+ for a boat to have racks that do not function properly within the warranty period..... Hum.... Sounds a little odd to me.

No argument there. If I were running the show, I certainly would be a lot more proactive about it.

Regardless, I do know there are guys from Tige on this board and if you contact them, they respond. If it were me and my dealer wasn't making progress, then I'd go that route.

I will give my dealer all the time that he needs since they have never done me wrong. I am only 2 weeks into this so it's no big deal at this time but a little embarrasing when friends comment of the missing rack.....

I post on here to let Tige Corp people know there are issues and hope that they review these threads. From what I have seen, they do and make changes based on these threads that help.
