I need to take you out on a lake and teach you about reading the lake
that and your depth gauge are your two best friends. I'm sure you can figure out the reading of the lake, just read the coast line, what does it look like, is it a sharp drop, or a gradual decent. are there trees on the shore, or rocks,etc etc, you can really figure out the bottom quite a bit by doing this. That and there are so many boats on the water now adays, that all the stuff that is there, probably is destroyed by other idiots.
