I am thinking of doing a trip to one of the central lakes in CA in 2008 and am looking for some info about San Antonio. Is it better or worse than Naceinmento? Any info would be great.

Nas is a lot bigger but the camping is not a good as San An
If you go during the week the lakes/ camp grounds are empty and glass all day long!!!!!!!
90+ during the day and cools down at night making it nice to camp.....
They also have like side houses you can rent
Let me know when you are going and I will make sure to make that trip.

We are looking at San An for July 20th through 26th right now. That is right when football ends and it would be a weekday trip. I am thinking of renting the house (make that I will be renting a house) my wife doesn't camp without AC and TV!Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

at nas you don't even need a slip you can anchor your boat next to your camp site if you get a good spot if not its $20 a day (it's a crappy dock) and at san an its $15 a day(a way nicer dock)Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. We have stayed in those houses that you can rent twice. They are very nice and comfortable and IMO the fact that they don't have phones or TV's is a BIG plus! And both times we rented we got one boat slip per house we rented and I think we rented 2 or 3 houses each time. It's a great lake!

I will stay in the park models and you can camp. If I need TV I just bring my portable satalite out. How far away are the campsites and park models? Can you anchor your boat out in front of the park models or is that a big no no?

The hook up sights are just across from the houses the regular camp sites are just up the hill....
You can't anchor close to the houses because the marina is just below you so it's best to put your boat in the slip or you have to pull it out every day.....Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour.
