Lake Mead

Hey all,

Anyone been out to Mead in the last 2 weeks? I haven't been out there since 2 June, yes its killing me but I we did go out in Phoenix last weekend so its not all bad. Wondering how the launch ramp was coming out at Callville? Also, is the marina at Echo Bay reconfigured to make it useable yet? I didn't want to take the jet skis through there last time we went up there let alone a 22' boat.

Callville is OK during the week - we were out there Tuesday last week. They haven't made any changes that I could see. Best bet is Echo on the weekends. They've cleared out all the boats on the launch side of the ramp, and ran bouys on the shallow side. Also seems to me that the people launching at Echo know what they're doing. Been there four times this season and haven't seen not one idiot (or at least no one displaying idiocy).

Echo is definitely shallow but you should be alright. I was there last Thursday and it was gorgeous.

lake mead marina is really shallow. last time i was there I had water coming in the door of the truck

I hear they are going to open up more of Callville just in time for the 4th.

That's what I like to hear. Got a buddy renting a deckboat from Callville and I have to bring the cool entertainment for when that gets old.

Probably take the jet skis out this weekend. Find a nice calm spot and tear around doing 360s kidding... I promise to keep it out in the middle of the lake.

I launched at Callville this weekend. They had people directing traffic on the ramp, but you can only help stupid so much. I don't know what they are doing out there, but I can't see any difference in the ramp from when they started the "improvements". Oh well its still better than sitting at home watching tv.
