Stopped in at Taylors today and it is a done deal his Malibus are showing up next week. Taylor came over and said all the right things as far as trying to keep me as a customer, but warranty will have to go to Wasatch Marine. Well I guess all us No Utah guys will have to get to know the guys at Wasatch. One of the possitives about Wasatch is they have a get together at Powell every Memorial day week end and from what I hear it is a big deal, I hope that it's open to us and not just the yatch buyers. I saw a plurb on the news this last spring and they close the dealership on one of the busiest week ends all for a customer appreciation deal, sounds good to me.
My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.

So Tige decided to pull Taylor's contract for warranty work? Does Wasatch have any experience with inboards?

Croft will be taking over the area for Nautique, good for him bad for Nautique owners, he is not known for great service. I have heard that Wasatch Marine Yacht sales will be the new Tige dealer. What's up with that? I love my Tige, but don't consider it a yacht. I wonder how my Tige will get serviced compared to the guy that spent $500,000.00? I know there is alot that goes into selecting a dealer and I'm sure it is not fun to have to pick a new area dealer, but I do have a recomendation. Fred's Marine out of Layton is a great dealer. I bought my last boat from him a Chaparral and had it for 18 years. He always was there when it came time for service. He has always been the kind of dealer that would do anything he could to get you back on the water as soon as possible. I don't think I have ever felt he has charged unfairly on any item he has sold or serviced for me. I just thought I would throw this up for comment. I know Fred's would establish a reputation similar to Matt at Boats of Nevada or TWS or Lee or all the other great dealers we have heard about on this site. I don't know much about Wasatch Marine, but chances are I may be getting to know them better. I don't know if Tige has penned a deal or not. My vote would go to Fred, but I know it doesn't count for much just my
Our new Tige dealer (came on board last Nov) is also a Cruiser Yacht dealer and tops in the country in both sales and service. If the dealer can keep a customer that just dropped 750K on a boat happy, I think he can keep anybody happy.

On a side note, Our dealer has sold about as many Tiges since Feb as the 2 previous dealers in the area did since Tige came to the Carolina's

That's a good reference point, I hope it turns out the same for Wasatch!

I was a serious buyer and tried to ask him some questions, he seemed put out that I interupted his lunch. Taylor's service has really improved since he has brought Kevin from the Tige factory onboard. I am surprised that he is giving up Tige. He already has Cobalt, Crown, Natique, and Tige. Is Croft the one that has Rinker?
I had the same experiance at the BU dealer as you did MOKI. Then we went to Taylor's and Darin Mercer knew his stuff. He did a great job selling my wife on a boat period. Then it was a TIGE' on top of that. It is to bad Taylor's is letting TIGE' go. He just fixed things and it seems to be rocking in his favor. just keep us in the loop as to how things go for you guys

                SugarCain,

you have it backwards. Dealers dont make crap off service/warranty work. They make money off their new boat sales. I wonder if Wasatch even has room to display the Tige line indoors. Or will they take you outside in a snowstorm to show you the 24VE?? Should be interesting to see what happens. I would have rather seen Tige in a brand new dealership by an actual wakeboarder than some I/O cruiser/tuber professional.

Thanks for the info. It would seem then that I would hear of a wider variety of prices if there were much markup on the boats. For example, if there were 10K markup, then you would hear of a dealer who has gotten hungry to move inventory, and was letting stuff go for 7-8K less than most others. I don't hear of that, or at least guys getting that good of a deal do not speak up (which might be the case). Maybe the markup is about 5K? Then if you sell 20 boats a year, you make 100K? Some guys seem to brag about a price that is 3-4K less than I hear everwhere else...

Darin actually delivered my boat to California for my wife to surprise me. I would say he is the salesman that represents TIGE' in the best way. I would love to see him working for TIGE' as a factory representative. I never saw him board but I am sure he is good. I know he is a U of U fan and after he delivered our boat he went to the U of U game in Oakland CA.

BYU did beat them last year. You have to admit that was a great pass to win the game. . I really felt for the Utah fans. That was just a sad game for them. U of U has a great medical program and is an outstanding University in all it does. So is BYU.

Darin is a great guy, he volunteered to help me lay sod when I was using that as the excuse as to why I couldn't come in and finalize my purchase. I think he really would have come and done it. He is a great asset to Tige', but he owns a SAN and would more likely go to the new Nautique dealer. But I guess it's all about selling boats for him and of the two I think he can sell more Tigé, he'll probably stay and sell bu's.

Just tell him if he stays and sells BU's the U of U will start a loosing streak and loose all their games for two years straight. Maybe he will move to the new TIGE' dealer.
