Todays Poll (TAPS Setting) and thoughts

After posting todays poll (What do you set TAPS at to Wakeboard?), I was wondering what people set their TAPS or TAPS² while having a substantial amount of weight/ballast in the boat. Since I have an 01 model, having the TAPS at 8 with about a 1000 pounds of weight including 3-4 people will create wash. So I have to run the TAPS around 5 1/2 to get the right shape. Also speed is a crucial factor.

So my question is if you have a lot of ballast (lets say 1000 #s plus) what is your speed and TAPS or TAPS² setting to get the right shape?

    matt,
i'm a sissy wakeboarder, so the big swells aren't my cup of tea yet. i set taps to 4 on my 2003 20V.

I run 2 350# sacs in the back and a 600# in the walkway in my 00 21V. At 22-23mph, taps is set at 4-5. There is no wash to 85ft.

        700 in rear
        600 bow walkway
        400 in walkway too

taps at 1-4 never higher or the washmonster comes!

          250 left side motor
          250 right side motor

2003 22V. With 2000 to 2500 pounds of ballast, we run the Taps at around 4. It builds the wake nicely. Anything more than that usually starts washing things out.

2004 22V with 1500#+ of ballast and 3-5 people in the boat- it is set at around 4.5 to 5.5. Real clean, good shape and not too rampy- nice pop.

                2004 22v-
540lbs in the walkway, TAPS at 6-8, depending on how many people. With 4 people, the wake is about thigh high. TAPS just changes the angle and breaking point of the wake.

                    03 22v
                    800 Lbs in the rear
                    540 up front
Usually two people also sitting up front.
at 75', taps is fine at 8, but I need to experiment some to see what might be better. No wash at any number that I have experimented with so far.
When we had 11 in the boat, taps at 8, all was very nice.
