What's your Top Speed?

What's your all's top speed? I always hear about ski boats having no top speed, and being lucky to reach 45. But my 24V can wrap the speedo at 50, and I know there's more, as my friend said we were cruising at 55 according to his baja one day.

Now I know the boat speedos can be and usually are way off. I was just curious if I'm just a lucky guy or what?

I think you are pretty lucky but speed all depends on the prop. Not everyone has the same prop. some ppl have their boats proped for ballast, and some for crusing and some for speed.

but most everyone I know on here is about 45. thats what mine is.

My RZ2 has topped out at 41 mph but normal conditions with a crew we have never been past 38 mph. Not that big of a deal to me I can just turn up the stereo and cruise at about 30 making my gas last all weekend.

Well I knew the majority of it was the prop. I'm running the factory 4 blade prop that came w/ the boat from Tige.

My speedo said 43 mph with taps at 3 and 3 people on the boat with pure glass.

45 on GPS last September. I doubt you're hitting 50 let alone 55.

45 at lower altitudes and 43 at higher altitudes.

43 max. 45 if there is glass and no ballast at Lake Mead (1100 feet elevation).

42 when im bymyself. Not more than 41 with other people.

You know, I'm starting to wonder if my prop isn't pitched correctly. However I guess there's no prob. since I don't have any hole shot issues when weighted down.

I would have said my speedo is way off but like I said above, we paced w/ another boat once before. So it's obviously not that far off.

what are you other guys adjusting your taps to? I noticed it wouldn't go much about 37mph until I started playing with taps to get that nose up. If I went much above 3, I got that super fun porpoising from hell!

TAPS 0 will get me to 43 MPH

I will get 44 in "rough" water (cross wakes and some wind), and 45 on the glass.

TAPS 0 will get me to 43 MPH

Put the taps up to about 3 and you will gain about 3 to 5 MPH in just a couple of seconds!
