Got a little riding done before leaving

I have a Vid, linked to Myspace, Sorry Its a crappy vid and if you notice the idiots always like to anchor their big mutha bleeping boats in MY ski cove and that some one is alway being towed there like behind my boat and the tiger, I should have a few more pics/vids flowing my way soon, but most pics/vids were taken with a non-crappy camera and and I have the crappy camera so i have on short vid my friend Devin took of me from my boat.

So more will be comming soon, hopefully

Ok I do not get this incessant whining of wakeboarders about how others use the lakes.

If your on a public body of water, your want to wakeboard does not override another tax paying citizen's right to tube, anchor, or w/e else wakeboarders want to whine about. If you really want to get down to it, a boat running ballast actually causes more damage to the environment with their wake than someone who's just stopped and anchored up.

Where did this sense of entitlement come from that is so prevalent? You never really see it on this board (discounting the comment above). But go over to wakeworld and it's all over the place.

You know, if you want to control how the body of water you ride on is used, then buy a private lake, build one, or buy a lot in an area that has a private lake w/ a very controlling HOA. Otherwise, don't complain about how others use public bodies of water.

      Ok, done ranting now.

Haha, nice write up...I dont run ballast

Its just some people have no common sense, you don't anchor in the middle of a cove with 3 wake boats(towing) riding up and down while you try and anchor LAMO

To add to this the cove isn't very wide, its aprox. 45'-55' wide, and the deepest part is 59'(says my fishfinder) and is plenty deep to anchor your big grass boat over there and shore line it drops to about 2 1/2'

There's an easy solution to that problem.... find another cove Then when someone comes to that cove, go find another. It looks to be a big enough body of water

You don't run ballast, yes, but the MC and CC owners on Wakeworld do. The same one's who seem to think they own a lake just b/c their boat is on it. They gotta to get any type of wake out of their boat

Well this is like the only necter cove on the river unless we go a quite a few miles up river thought the main channel to get to the illinois river which is wider, thus more wind catch, but it it shaped like a lower case r, so if you going North/south and its windy you could go around the bend East/west and it will usually solve the problem but takes about 1/2 to and hour out of our riding time depending on the water and the other is literally right out side of my harbour

One bad thing about MY Cove is that you have to watch for water logged logs on the right side of the cove above the dam

I goes both ways. I have had fisherman go in front of me, and do s turns to make the water harder to wakeboard on. Cuz they thought I shouldn't wakeboard near where they were fishing. And I have seen wakeboard boats disregard the no-ski buoys to get better water, and mess up the few places someone can fish in peace.

Oroville is a big fishing lake, and over the last few years, more and more people have been coming up from SAC and the bay area to board and ski because it is still not that busy of a lake. There is one cove in particular that is like WAKEBOARD cove in the north fork, where we always go. There are a couple of pros that practice in their also. But the fisherman like to hug the shore rocks to fish, and the wakes make it hard. But just a few hundred yards farther in, there is a no ski zone, so they should prob head in.

Everyone just needs to respect the rights of others to do their thing. Although, we have been doing a lot of surfing lately, which does require ballast, which we use. But we don't surf unless the water is already choppy. If its smooth, we board.

I also practice a special way of driving where I stay close to one shore and do comp turns so that one side of my wake dissapates right to one shore immediately. Helps keep the water smooth.

                Thats a real boater there

Fishing in our cove isn't a problem, becasue at about 1500-2000rpm's fish jump in our boats, Its the chineese grass carp that are doing that and also killing our game fish

Bummer. Lake Oroville is a great fishing lake. I am not much of a fisherman, but I do get out sometimes. Striped bass off the rocks is a lot of fun. But I only do it in the fall and winter, when too cold to wakeboard.

Not to spew blasphemy on this site.... ;-)

But have you seen the mastercraft that is part wakeboat, part boston whaler?

                      http://www.mastercraft.com/index.php...boat=csx220.07

I can't imagine using one, but when my kids get older and move out, and I fish more, I can see something like that. Fish sometimes, and pull the grandkids wakeboarding!

Maybe Tige will make something when the time comes.

Hey, Wannabe..........what cove are you in? I'm a little familiar w/ the River / Lake. I usually go on the Illinios River above Pere Marquette but yesterday, I boarded in Snake on Dardenne. Good water, after the rain.

I'd rather buy a Boston Whaler and a Tigé for the price MC wants for that thing. Just because it is a saltwater boat doesn't mean it's not going to take on water and sink in the open water they're advertising it for.

Ok my friend couldn't upload any videos for some reason, so he deleted them but he sent over a few pics. The last one is a river log to watch out for.
