    Havasu advice...

Hey guys I'm getting a group of friends together and gonna make the 18 hour trip to Havasu for labor day. I know there are TONS of boats that get sunk there... anyone got an arial map of where I need to avoid. Also... any advice on where to stay? Where are the "festivities"... want to see some nakedness, and bringing 4 or 5 girls that like to get naked themselves. So where do I take them?

Avoid anywhere when it gets windy. Usually the sandbar is the place to go as the city has some strict morality laws. Wouldn't really know as I am an old geezer with a family. G-money will chime in as he is part of the younger generation
    Let it be!!!

Labor Day and every major holiday sucks!!!! The sandbar is closed and about every launch ramp in the area is over crowed. I would recommend to launch out of Park Moabi and set up camp in the Moabi channel or go north and set up camp about 3-5 miles north. You will not be able to wakeboard so just leave the boards at home unless you get out at 5 am (no joke). You are much better off coming out just about any other weekend and you can go to the sandbar and see some almost naked behavior. In AZ if La Paz county sheriff gets you for public nudity you become a sex offender (not good on the record). Let me know where you are staying your age group and I will try to give you the best in site, but if I were you I would pick just about any other weekend than that (major holidays suck)

Eh, the majority of us are between 25-32.

The girls however are ranging anywhere from 18-26.

I wasn't planning on boarding at all. Not on a big weekend. Are there any good lakeside motels or cabin rentals?

As for the other weekends.... well... a crowd is actually what we're looking for! That's the whole point of our road trip, otherwise, I could just stay here.

Trust me there is always a crowd during the summer months in Havasu. Just more 3 time a year guys (guys who only boat 3 times a year (every major holiday) and newbies with rentals). As for places to stay I don't know in the Havasu area (I stay with friends). Winsor beach is the best place to launch. Don't launch at site #6 unless you have nerves of steel. Copper Canyon South I think will be open so you can tie up there all day, just bring lots of bumpers for your boat. Very cool party scene just have a DD (please). The rock jump is great. Also Steamboat is good as well. You have to get to the channel before 6 am to secure a spot and plan not to leave all day (which sucks because the channel water is like taking a warm bath with exhaust fumes). Just North of the Sandbar to the left is the mini sandbar where many people will be on Labor day. and just going north and floating the Topock gorge is very cool as well ( I just don't think that is what you are looking for). Main thing I will tell you is have a DD and tell your crowd that if they are out of control you will leave them. If you have not seen Party Police there are some classic scene from drunk as punks that can't shut up and the police arrest them. I hope this is helpful. I was always big on the Parker strip when we were young and dumb (more bars on the water).

l went for Memorial Day 2 years ago and they stopped letting boats on the water at 6:00am, luckily we got on at about 5:45am after waiting in line for an hour and a half...yes we got in line at 4:00am to get on the water but we also had a spot on the beach in just below the London Bridge. It was crazy!

WOW... are you kidding me Timmy? That's ridiculous!

Eh, don't worry coach, my "crew" knows how to handle themselves after a day of drinking at the party cove. We always have a DD (usually me unfortunately!)

For me it is my wife. Most are fine but you know how a bunch of drunks on the water can be all day. Fun for all but the sober guy dealing with LEO

                          Tanner,

There is no way it will take you 18 hours to Hav. I made it from bako to norman in 19, and was on pace to make it in the z in 16. If you drive the speedlimit you will make it easy in under 18. I mean guess that depends on how many stops, and where in Hav your going, but shouldn't take you that long.
