This last weekend we went to Lake Mohave.
On Tuesday we where buy Davis Dam when someone in a new Air Nautique cut us off and put his rider in harms way. Then he had the tenacity to yell at us for getting to close to his rider.
This is what happened we where going south and he was going east.
We where about 400 feet from the shore, and he was about 100 feet from the dam (we where about 300 feet apart he was at my 1 o-clock). He past the dam and heeded towards a no wake zone. He then made a u-turn in about 30 feet of room and proceeded west (now he is my 10 0-clock). At this time we where only about 150 feet away from each other. There was a runabout to my right so I had two choices. 1, shut down and drop my rider, or 2, cut behind his rider and stay as close to the dam as I can.
(Ok the proper thing to do would have been to shut it down and drop my rider, but I was pissed so I cut behind his rider and went next to the dam on his left side.)
As soon as this happened his rider feel and I passed him on the left.
( ok I should have stopped and waited for the @@@ to pick him up so that I could explain that making an U-turn in front of a 5,000 lb boat is not the smartest thing, but I keep going)
About an hour later he comes over and starts yelling at me for cutting him off. (He needs a dictionary) I told him that he cut me off, and that is how I got behind him. After a few words I told him to go get the ranger so that they could make the call. We skied for about another 2 hours and nobody showed up. Later that night as we where leaving I stopped at the ranger station to see if they had a complaint about me. He said no and asked way. I told him what had happened, and he said that he did not hear of anything about it, and that if a complaint was filed that they probably dismissed it after the other party left the office.
He also said laughing that just because they has money to buy a nice boat does not mean they have any common sense.
