Moki, when are you going to do the How To write-up on "How to get the Ball and Chain to let you spend all this money on your boat"
Dang I cant eait to see this thing in Oct. You guys make me want to go out and buy and older boat and fix it up
Buy her lots of jewelry, wash the dishes now and then, pay for a lot of baby sitters, pay for a house cleaner once a week and make her feel like she just spent a lot of money on the new clothes she just bought
Actually, I think the hardest part by far is getting it attached properly to the throttle.
Mine is on the starboard side, but have seen them on the port side too. My gas tank is a little bit shaped like the state of Utah, so I wish that the PP were on the same side as the tongue on the gas tank, which would have left a little more room for the ballast manifold on the other side.
Do you have any pearls of wisdom on the throttle placement that you would like to throw before the swine?
The instructions say to replace the tachometer instead of the speedometer, is this how yours is setup
Mine is installed on the Accessory panel near the steering wheel, But i think your dash is set up differently. The Perferct Pass displays the RPM, i think...

Looking for fat chicks for long walks, romance, cheap buffets, and BALLAST.
Yea there it is.
A lot of huevos to make that cut.
We calibrated ours with a GPS, it was about 9MPH outta whack out of the box.
Seem'd to do the trick.
Its added value to the boat is excellent.
A good investment.
Good tip on the GPS, I had the illusion that they came calibrated.
OK, I totally don't get how the Perfect Pass works, it appears that it only has the ability to pull the cable in which appears to only pull the throttle back. When my throttle is pushed down it pulls the throttle assembly towards the front of the boat, the PP cable hooks on the back and so only has the ability to pull it back not push it forward. Their literature states the following:
PerfectPass can open the throttle, but depends on the engine return spring to bring it back towards neutral.
I just finished installing a Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro on our 21V. The PP system does indeed only "pull" on the throttle to increase speed and relies on the return spring to decrease speed. The system uses a stepping motor to position the throttle. The motor can "pull" on the linkage to increase speed and steps in reverse allowing the return spring to move the linkage back to decrease speed. The stepping motor takes discrete little steps controlled by the computer module sensing the speed the paddle wheel is spinning at. The stepping motor will turn one direction and "pull" the linkage by winding up the little rope on the motor shaft which increases speed. The motor will turn the other direction unwinding the little rope allowing the return spring to move the linkage in the other direction decreasing speed.
Thanks for your response, that part I actually understand, what is confusing me is that it appears from the pictures that the cable hooks into the opposite end of the throttle cable that comes from the helm. When my throttle is pushed to full, it pulls the the throttle control lever towards the front of the boat. So, it shows Perfect Pass coming from the back of the boat and hooking on the throttle control lever, but in order for it to apply throttle it will have to push the throttle control lever forward when all it can do is pull it backwards. Do you have the Black Scorpion Engine as well?
