Need some help with selling our boat....

I know we just boat our 2007 24 VE a month ago but after some busy weekends on our lake we have decided it's not the right boat for us on our lake. We have put 14 hours on and of course had no issues. The problem we are having is that we have so many cruisers on our lake that whenever we are not under power and the nose is not up you need to be on the defensive for large "rollers". We have not taken many over the front but certainly would have if I was not careful and being defensive. The other issue that we have is that while anchored we are really getting tossed around. We plan to start a family in a year or so and could not imagine bringing the little ones out in those conditions. Our lake continues to see more and more of these huge cruisers with operators not being respectful of their wake.

I really need all of your help. The boat is loaded and has every option possible except ballast. It's black and yellow (I wil get some pictures hopefully tomorrow). With all of the options the boat was $65,000 new. We have put 14 hours on and are hoping to get $57,000. Obviously it has all warranties and is in brand new condition. The one thing we do not have is a trailer. The dealer has offered to consign the boat and take a 10% cut. I'n not sure if that is the best way to go or not. Any input, ideas, suggestions or if anyone want's to buy your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. This certianly was not an easy choice for us. Now we are just hopeful to be able to sell someone a great boat at a great price and not have it take too long. Hate to make the payment and not be able to use it. Thanks again!!!

I am sorry to hear that

Try to get the best of both worlds and make a deal with your dealer that if you can sell it on your own then he only get a small or no percentage but if he sells it, he can get the full percentage. 10% seems high, especially since he has already made money off of you. I would list your boat on boattraderonline.com

You might also try craigslist...I sold our Volvo in 2 weeks using it.

What kind of boat are you thinking about replacing it with? No other small boat lakes around?

I'm with Moki here, 10% seems a bit high since you only bought it a month ago. I'm shocked that your dealer wont hook you up, mine has bent over backwards to make us happy and I'm positive that they would help me sell if it was not the right boat for me. That is why I got my 07 24Ve for such a deal because my 22v was not the right boat for me, and they already made their money off me 10 months prior. Ebay, boattrader, Craigslist are all good resources to sell your boat. Also advertise around your lake because 57k w/o trailer may be a stretch.

That really stinks about the boat - I know you were sooo looking forward to getting it.

I'm still waiting to see if you could hear that stereo with the tower speakers while on the wakeboard. I sent you a PM last week.

Pete is pretty good but has been slow getting back to me with issues. Not sure if he is busy or what. Hopefully he will help you out.

Wow! I think I would consider changing lakes! What kind of boat are you looking at. I don't know of any other inboard boats that take rough water better than a Tige. I guess buying another cruiser to put on the lake would work.

You are gonna need a trailer to get that price. Without a trailer it will be tough. Do you have aany pictures, I think I could use that thing.

my step bro may be interested, but it would have to have a trailer. I"m with SP, you will easily get that price, but you gotta have a trailer. I wish you had it two years down the road, I'd be interested then

Good luck and hope you find a buyer. It's too bad that you are selling so quickly.

Or maybe this one if it is salvagable.... j/k

sounds like he needs an X-80 or a tsunami!

Have you considered putting it on ebay and/or boattrader.com?

i cant' imagine the size of the swells if the 24 can't handle it. It's HUGE compared to my 21. Anhaney's 24 is so not a problem, he had one in mine

I can feel his pain. You guys just may be used to being on the defensive, but I have a new 24Ve, and I only don't worry about it, cuz my local lake is not like that. But I don't think I could have had this boat when we lived in SoCal, and did sometimes the local lakes, or mead. It def takes water over the bow easily. On lake oroville, we can find a secluded cove to anchor and swim, and the lake is not that crowded. But on a lake like Castaic, or Pyramid, it would be a constant chore.

Craigslist. Take some real high resolution pictures, and host them somewhere off of craigslist. Then make your ad, and include the image links, so they are huge, like 800-900 pixels wide. People will buy from MILES away if you have GREAT pics.

see that just dumbfounds me. I was on lake texoma with my boat, and not once took water over the bow, and there are some HUGE wakes on that lake. After driving anhaney's 24v, I wouldn't even be on the defense on all the lakes I have been on. It's so tall out of the water, I don't even have to think twice.

But when he was drivng my 21i, he had water over the bow twice, just on my own wake.

Maybe I'm on the defense, and just don't realize it.
