Good thing WS has free return. Since ordering I have read every post in the "ballast" section on the website. I am thinking of returning the V sacks and getting the Enzo sack. But I am concerned, a lot of people ( including you) say keep it 60/40 split more weight in the front of the boat then the rear. So even if I have 700 in each sack ( 1400 total in the rear) how do I balance it with more weight in the front? I do not want to have sacks all over the boat, only where I can not see them.

    What do I do?

Do you think I should get 2 Enzo sacks? that way I could load one down for surfing on either side without switching sacks ( we are goofy and guests could be regular) then for boarding, just keep both of them 1/2 or 1/3 full depending on what we want need?

As for the front of the boat, can anyone confirm if the integrated bow sack will fit under the seats in the 22VE? someone said in another thread it will not fit, im getting conflicting info.... anyone know for sure?

The 60/40 seems to be the best for the wakeboard wake, but for surfing, it seems you want as much as possible along the one side. Dont return the V drive sacs just yet, you will need to ballence the weight left to right for boarding or go with 2 enzo's............but the cost 1 is almost as much as what I paid for my 4 sacs.

The bow sac will fit but will not fill to the rated 700#'s or what ever it is. I think you can get about 500 to 550 in there.

I was just reading the return policy on wakeside, they just introduced this new performance return policy. Anything you buy and are not happy with the performance can be returned or exchanged for anything else ( pretty cool if you ask me) they also now have free return shipping on most items.

So basically I am thinking of trying out the V drive sacks to see what it does, then I will order 2 of the 750 Single bags ( 1 in each locker) for a total of 1500 in the rear. why I did not note the size of these and the fact that you get a total of 500 lb. more for $100 more then V sacks is beyond me

The enzo sack is stupidly priced and to have to buy 2 of them is outrageous, but again if I have to go that route it will be a last resort after I return the 750 sacks.

I have bought just about everything from Wakeside and this new policy makes my choice that much easier

Has anyone seen the black bags? do the look better? I am tempted to just order them all in black and wait the few days it takes for them to order them in.

as always, thanks guys for being honest and steering me right.

I got the black. They dont stand out so bad against the charcoal carpet in the lockers.

Not a bad idea to just try things out, as long as you are buying from a place with a liberal return policy.

Like chpthrill said, the 60/40 balance is for your wakeboarding, not surfing. It is going to be hard to do that without a bag in the nose on the floor, or without putting some lead up there. If you fill up 1500 in the back, to get that much up front is very difficult without some effort, then again, if your crew is small, why not throw a bag on the floor in the nose?

The 24V is going to only be slightly different than the 22Ve, and I personally find the wake formidable with only 1200 or so pounds. If you are going to run 2K plus, you are going to have a monster on your hands!

I personally have a strong distaste for moving the pump from bag to bag to bag to get the ballast full, so I favor an Enzo type bag. Part of my problem is that I end up with 7-8 kids and 4 adults tripping over everything, with less seats available while filling a bag. It is hard to justify the expense when you could get just as much weight for less, by buying 2 separate bags. But I figure it is less than 1% of the cost of the entire boat, and just bite the bullet. My time on the water is one of my most valuable assets, so anything I can do to make it better, I do it, almost regardless of cost.

So...are you saying that with my wife driving. My 10 year old and my my 7 year old on the starboard rear side. A cooler full of beer and a 5 gallon water jug in the rear starboard locker....wasn't enough ballast for my goofy surfing last weekend?

I call my setup "getto ballast"....

I should probably add that because of prop rotation, it seems that the dark side needs much less weight than the side of the true beleivers.

I was amazed that a friend of mine was able to surf the starboard side with just a 400 pound bag and 4 people, and do it without difficulty.

Dude, that must have been a big cooler of beer.

Just a case and a 20 pounder of ice...surfed up and down the cove with no rope until my legs were cramping. I won't be throwing any airs off it, but it was definitely surf worthy... I will admit the sale on 7 gallon water jugs at the sporting goods store were tempting this weekend.

We sold our RV(I think) yesterday, so I will be getting a couple of bags. Has anyone tried the Launch pad tube sack? I was thinking it may tuck right up the side from the rear locker forward under the u-seats. Almost as much weight as the v-sacks, and cheaper too. Seems it may leave me more space in the locker too.

Speaking of darkside vs. goofy...I noticed that my buddy can't produce a decent goofy wake in his X-star no matter how much ballast he throws at it. Love my Tige'!
