Why in the world would they attach from the top like that. Those should attach from the other side, and not penetrate the wood. You do not want metal to be able to meet the boat ever! The screws should be less than the thickness of the wood and metal, and should be attached from the underside into the wood....similar ro the lag screws on bunks. Unreal! When I reuilt my bunks, all were attached in this manner using some angle brackets I built up.

I agree with both of you, that seems like the logical way to do it. I can tell you that I had no idea that they were attached that way untill this happened. Pretty poor assembly if you ask me, especially with the pressure that a inboard puts on that side during loading and unloading. I am planning on making some calls today. I like the idea of asking EZLoader if they have been contacted by the dealer.
I will keep you all in the loop with updates....................I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

Well I had to make the call today to the dealer (Its been 2 weeks + since this began). He told me that EZLoader would not step up and take any responsiblity. He told me to go ahead and get it fixed and that he would pay for it, not sure if he will pay bill directly for me or if he will reimburse me. I asked if he would like for me to call EZLoader myself and he said "No," give me a couple more days and I will let you know if I need you to do that. In the mean time just get it fixed and I will pay for it. My next concern is, "the future!" I do not want to go through this every year always worrying any time we take the boat off the trailer, "is it being gouged?". I obviously am very conscious of this issue now and will be checking the screws regularly, but I have been advised to fix or modify the trailer myself so this wont happen again, spend 60k on a boat & trailer and I have to do the fixin! Pleeeeeaaaaaassssse . If they want me to fix or redesign their product, I need to be on the payroll!
Think I will just go ahead and call EZLoader and make a stink, like some of you suggested. I dont really want to be an a**, but if they are in the trailer makin bizz and cant do better than that, well they need to take some heat. I dont want to throw my dealer under the bus, but if he cant make it happen maybe I can.
More to come.............................................. .................I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

Just make sure you don't piss off the dealer but I would definitely call EZLoader and ask questions about where they screw in the screws in comparison to where the carpet gets laid. Then threaten call the BBB to report a lemon and their inability to resolve their problem. But, for your sake. DO NOT PISS OFF YOUR DEALER. I think you will regret it if you do.

yeah- definitely go through your dealer. They've probably got more pull and someone to talk to directly. Tigé dealers are typically good at doing that. I know the Ski Dock in Austin has helped me out a number of times.
I just read where it says that EZ-Loader wont step up. I had an EZ-Loader for my sea doo, and the quality on that small trailer was pretty good. However, I'll steer clear of them in the future. Still, my next trailer will be a custom job by Magnum anyways... so I dont think that changes anything.Last edited by Ruune; 06-13-2007, 06:50 AM.Freude am Fahren.

I would try not to piss off your dealer though. Unless there is another Tige Dealer near you. You are going to have to deal with your dealer a lot over the years it is better if you are on his good side.
I am also a firm believer in the saying "The squeeky wheel gets the grease" If this does not get taken care of start nagging your dealer and EZloader. Eventually one of them will step up.
Good Luck!

They should fix both boat and trailer.
Update, "well not really." Since I spoke to the dealer on Tuesday and he asked me to give him a few more days before he wanted me to start being a squeaky wheel, making calls on my own. Well it has been a few days and again no timely response. He advised that he would either call or e-mail me back. Three days I believe is more than enough.
As far as having another dealer to go to, not sure where the next closest one is and mine is about 3 hours away in Woodbridge VA. They do have a partnership with Ski Boats Unlimited here in Chesapeake but they are a MC dealer. They did however handle the boat delievery for me. As of right now Ski Boats Unlimited is not in the loop. That I know of.
Will begin squeaking my wheels next week, I will keep you guys posted.I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!
