    What would you guys do?

I have a question regarding a difficult situation I am in. I recently discovered that the side of 22Ve' is deeply gouged in the hull/gel coat from my trailer. A few weeks back I had some difficulty loading onto the trailer, which I believe I had the trailer to deep in the water. The back of the boat rode up on top of the fender bunk on the trailer and I could then see these gouges in the hull. I of corse got extremely pisssss , thinking we had done something wrong. After having time to calm down and study the situation, it made no sense to me how that could cause this damage. The damage is concealed by the fender bunk when loaded on the trailer and is under the water line when in the water, so my best look is by feel when running my hand over it when the boat is in the water. There are what seems to be 4 or 5 12" to 15" long gouges in the hull on the side just above the bottom edge. On our next time out, after putting the boat in the water I inspected the trailer and found there are screws that hold the carpeted bunks on the trailer fenders and they are installed from the carpeted side into the fender towards the tire (head of the screw is on the hull side of the carpeted bunk). Well the culprit screw was sticking out and was full of gel coat shavings where it had been digging in the side of the hull. I now realize that this probably has been there since we got the boat a couple of months ago and has been reoccuing over and over by the simple act of unloading the boat into the water, driving it off the trailer, as the back end kicks over to the right it has to ride against this fender and also that guide pole. I just happen to be able to see it that night that it sat on top of the fender, because normally that fender covers that area. I have called my dealer and e-mailed him pictures, that was about 2 weeks ago, and I must say I am getting a little impatient. He sounded confident that he could get the trailer co. (EZLoader custom) to take care of it, but with the long time passing lack of a response in 2 weeks I am now getting very concerned. Take a look at the pics, what would you do?

What kind of trailer is it? (company) I'm assuming your dealer ordered the trailer and loaded the boat on it when they took delivery.. right? I would definitely talk to the dealer and either have them fix the gel coat or have the trailer company fix it.. either way it is clearly not your fault and it should be fixed! I can understand how frustrating that is...

I had a problem with my trailer and went straight to Extreme. They were very good about making it right. Despite the fact it is your dealer's responsibility to help you on this, it sometimes is simply better to cut out the middle man. If they do not fix it, contact the dealer and start with some diplomacy, then cusswords, then blab all over the internet, then attorneys, in that order. That is what I would do.

It is not exactly something that you could have noticed upon inspection of the trailer.

BTW, if you haven't already, screw that thing back in ASAP!

I love the colors of your boat.
          Be excellent to one another.

You know I haven't even considered calling EZLoader myself, I was just going to let the dealer handle it. But if its been two weeks already, he is either scared to call or procrastinating very hard. Maybe I will make the difficult call myself, I might be surprized how it goes. I got my first good look at how bad it is today, I went to a harbour festival on the waterfront in Norfolk VA today, the water there is a lot clearer that the intercoastal water way. I was able to get a good look at it due to the water being clear, now I am even more disgusted. Take a look, it's pretty bad.........................

                    Scoot18,

That suck! EZ load is very slow to respond. I have a new EZ load trailer and the starboard side bunkers are 1.5 higher than the Port side and my boat rides up on the port side finders. My dealer has been working with EZ load and I was told that a new trailer is on its way but have not seen it, going on 4 weeks. Keep us updated.

I think all those trailer companys just slap them together real quick. On our prestige the bunks are crooked, and it twists the wood and the boat sits sideways.

Your Dealer needs to fix it for you now because they sold you the boat and trailer as a package. The Dealer then needs to have EZ Loader reimburse the cost of repairs since they built the trailer.

There it is, right in that exact order.

Are you backing the trailer too far into the water, or is your launchramp shallow and flat?
Our trailer bunks front are sticking outta the water about 2 ft when we set the boat back on it.

IMO extreme makes a pretty good trailer.
