my wifes first time

So we go to the lake today....had to let the morning storms past first.
Get out and all is well hang w/some friends and have a good time.
Get back to the boat ramp and it is a little windy and ask the mrs. if she wants to back the trailer or load the boat...she is quick to not back down the trailer....so I tell her when she is letting me off today is the day she is putting the boat on. It is a little windy and she has her friend from work w/her 2 kids w/us....nothing like a little added pressure.

I back in the traielr and motion to her to go to the wind side and let it blow her back some to it. she is heading in at proper speed and with only 2 directional additions from me she put it on dead center...probably better than I do most days...(then again I dont have anyone at the trailer giving me direction . ha ha).

Well she did awesome. Now I have a new boat loader. SWEET

Congrats! It's nice to have a boat loader/unloader with you! Makes launching and leaving super fast! Especially if you're at a lake w/ a crowded ramp! Makes you look like a pro!

Haha your lucky because I cannot back the truck in or trailer the boat because Water Patrol is always at the ramp we use and it is also a county rec center or somthing so their is also police so I always end up walking the boat to the trailer and wenching it the rest of the way, Lucky for us we trailer 2 times a year

That is cause for celebration. Now you will always have the perfrect reason why she has to go with you any time you go out on the boat. I agree with the others, it is nice to have help (that knows what to do) makes things go a lot quicker.

Once she has both processes down, it will make life a lot easier. My GF is able to do both but prefers to do the trailer because she thinks it's easier.

My wife prefers to back the trailer down the ramp if it is a slow day,if people are everywhere she freaks out ....but were working on that,and her therapist says shes almost ready to try again

You should have seen the looks of envy on the guys at the ramp as my wife backed our 36' motor home plus boat trailer down the ramp at Shasta a few weeks ago.

Pictures would have been awesome...I was nervous for her. This particular launch, you can drive a trailer with a shortbed pickup down to the water nose first, and whip a u turn at the bottom. It is a really long ramp, and she had to back that monster all the way down since we are over 60' long. Jerk passed her on the ramp shoulder as she was backing down, and took her spot!

I haven't posted due to my lack of pics...when it is out of the garage, I am typically all excited to get to the lake and I forget to take pictures.
