    NorCal INT Pictures

We have another NorCal event this weekend, and I just got word from the event coordinators they have pictures up.

    http://www.infojunkie.info/int2007/m...007/index.html

My kids are in there interspersed. This has been a great thing for my family, because it has inspired my kids to get out and practice. It really gives us something to do, we are always working on there next tricks to learn, and putting together trick runs. If you are in the area, or have an INT league near you, you should give it a shot. It is very family friendly, and a great place to meet like minded people.

Do you have any of your own pics? If not, let us know which ones are your kids.

My camera compact flash died, but I took some stills from my video camera.

Thanks, its a blast. I will tell you, I have researching and planning my upgrade to inboard for almost 2 years. I knew when I did it I was going to drop some coin, and so wanted to get the most of it. So we go out like 2-3x a week since we got the Tige. But just going out isn't enough. The kids start getting board, all but my 11yr old son, who is gung ho. Joining INT was the thing that bought the dream together for me. All of my kids were real nervous, and the oldest 2 girls didn't want to do it. But I asked them to just do the first comp for me, and then we would all sit down as a family and decide if we would keep going. They said OK. They had so much fun, and met pros, and other friends. They all apologized and are already talking about the rest of the comps, and what class they can make it into next year. Now when we go on the boat, everyone is fighting for time on a wake or surfboard. They are trying to land new tricks of the trick list, and putting together trick sets for the competition. They want to hit the lake everyday. What more could a dad ask for that loves nothing more than towing his kids around in his beautiful 24Ve with the $4k stereo?

The oldest 2 are now talking about whether they can get good enough to make a college team like the chico state wakeboard team.

My 11 yr old is a gifted baseball player, and will most likely make all stars this next season like he has the last 2. But he knows he is not good enough to ever play pro, or be a college star, he just shines in our mountain town, coming from a competitive southern california league. He wants to not do baseball, so we can start boarding in march. He is really beginning to shred on the board, and a local shop said they may want to sponsor him if he really gets going, so he is all over that.

Anyway, INT has helped me complete my master plan, of doing something together as a family, with more purpose than just relaxing on the water. I like baseball and softball, but at the end of the day, you are just taxiing your kids all over different places, and its rare you see a good game. Now, we can practice in the BOAT together, cheer each other on, and compete together as a family camping at a lake for a couple of days. Hopefully this sticks, and they will all keep doing this, and I will be one happy dude.

Well said! Boating is one of the few things that a family can do together and every age group enjoys it. It keeps you in personal setting that really brings the family together. I wish we had a similar event closer to us to push my kids to do better. For now, I will just have to enjoy my family, being out in nature, enjoying watersports and cruising around in an awesome boat.

Yes, most of the comps are only 1 hour away from me, makes it very doable.

Great to see the little kids out moving water. That is what it is all about the kids and family. It really makes all the money spent worth it when they are up and moving on the water
