Whats with the pressure build up in the gas tank? isn't the last thing you want is gas spraying out all over you? It's gotten me 3 times already. The first time was by the Tige rep himself. We were at the gas station filling up. He was pumping it from in the boat, and I was standing near him and the pump on the ground. Then all of the sudden it burped up and sprayed all over me. -This was a little to much gas than I usually like to have all over me. Ya know?
So I have learned to fill up gallon by gallon. Meaning fill 1 gallon. Stop. Remove the pump. Let the air pressure return to normal than pump another gallon. 2 at the most, If you don't... then your in for a surprise. The worst time was at the marina on Lake McClure. I was completely covered with fuel. My shirt and shorts were covered. The sheriff there told me to jump in the lake.... I agreed.
As far as I know there are safety measures with auto companies (car & trucks) to protect people being doused with gasoline. Gas stations have made safety features on gas pump's to stop this. My last boat never did that
My question is why the heck would Tige let a design flaw like that pass? This is a serous problem. One day someone getting sprayed with gas and all of the sudden one spark and poof!
Great balls of fire!
I can see having to pump slowly, but gallon by gallon?
Isn't that thing next to the gas cap a pressure release valve?
Not trying to be neg. don't get me wrong, I love, love, love my new boat and Tige rocks! but this is the one thing I cant understand.
