    New Boat Tarp

I've got an 04 22i and my tarp is starting to develop some tears. What is the best site to get a replacement tarp? Thanks!

We got a Rankin cover, http://www.rankincovers.com/, for our 2000 21V and love it. It's well made, fits great, a bit pricey, but we really like that we can tow with it on, too.

Thanks R&T for your help!! It looks like they want measurements on the website. Wouldn't they be able to get that from Tige? It is a factory tower.

The folks at Rankin have been very friendly and helpfull with my questions. Just give them a call. They will want to double check the measurements. Once the slots for the tower are cut into the cover it can't easily be changed. One thing I forgot to mention to them was our boat has a pylon in front of the engine that pushes up the cover a couple of inches. They sent a square of the reinforcing padding, no charge, that my wife sewed in so it wouldn't wear thru.

We bought a great boat cover from iboats.com and the cover is made by Westland out of what they call sharkskin. It is for our exact Tige boat and the only choice is with or without swim platform cover. This is a consideration for towing so we went without the platform cover and really like it. It cost $335 with shipping. Had it about a year and its doing well. They have to fit right to keep rain from pooling up on the topside.

Rankin is what came on my Tige. I like it alot, other that the chafing my boat gets on long hauls. I am going to see if I can add something softer at the chafe points. They even embroidered the Tige' logo on mine....sharp!

22Veee - where does yours chafe? We've only been on a couple of short trips with our Rankin. In July we're going to Lake Berryessa which is 10 hrs behind a Class C. We are making front and rear sun covers for the upholstery when we're docked. The original Tige cover will be used as a pattern and the straps used to hold the covers down. It's torn across the middle so we use it as sun cover for the Rankin until I get the carport cover built. I called Rankin and they use black Flexform carpet across the back to keep from chafing the rear fiberglass. They use something thicker across the top of the windshield and for the pylon.

Different spots above and below the rub rail, and on the nose...mostly midship and forward. We hauled 18 hours each way to Havasu behind our diesel pusher, and it took me an hour or two to buff out the chafe marks w/ 3M celaner wax. I have started adding fresh wax before long hauls to minimize the chafing. I will also start using some blue painters tape on really long hauls. We actually had our pass through winshield bumper poke a hole through the cover...the dealer patched it up, but it was annoying. I love the looks, and how easy it is to put on!
