    black from swim platform

Is anyone else having problems with black from the swim platform? This weekend anytime someone walked in from the swim platform they left black footprints. If so, is there anything you can treat it with or what do you do to fix?

You know, I am having he exact same problem on my 06 24Ve. I am looking into Gator Grip or HydroTurf but I am not going to do anything during the boating season.

Huge ditto on that da.bell. We'll be looking to do that this off season. I called Gator Grip last week and he said they didn't do custom colors like someone had mentioned in an earlier thread though.

Any of you guys ever wash the swim deck? I dont, it just gets rinsed with water when I wash the boat, no soap or anything and we have 0 black from ours.

I am planning on GatorGriping mine as well

No, I don't wash my swim deck either. I did however leave the cover off the deck last summer for 1 week.

Just a quick question.. What does the black rubber look like on your fiberglass swim deck? The boat we demoed was an '06 22Ve but we ended up buying an '07 22Ve and on ours the black rubber on the platform is a bunch of é's. Is that the same as yours? I didn't remember the '06's platform having the é's but I probably just didn't notice..

BTT: Our swim deck didn't get stepped on the first time we took it out. (it was a cold evening after delivery) So any black may have gotten washed off then but since the first trip we have used the swim deck all the time w/ no black footprints.
If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..

I do not wash the swim platform. I have heard that scrubbing it will reduce the amount of black stuff that comes off but I haven't tested that theory.

                    Washed the deck

I wash my deck all the time. I then use NO-Touch tire cleaner to moisturize it. I have never had black come of on the feet but when I wash it and scrub it oh yea it is black soap real quick. The problem I am having this year is the black rubber is cracking real bad and looks bad. I was thinking gator grip or hydro turf by the end of the year. Not sure how that will stand up to the boards rubbing across it though.

                      black from swim platform

The platform we have on our 0622ve is black with the e's someone was asking about. I saw someone put "no-touch " tire something to moisturize it. Do you think the key is to keep it moist? What about 303 protectant?

That is exactly my same issue. I heard about Gator Grip lasting awhile and someone already said something about it on tigeowners.com. I got some samples of Hydro Turf and it looks like denser foam but not sure how to test it to see how the wear and tear would be.

Any suggestions from anyone regarding how to test this stuff?????

Th only Prob i have is the color going flat. i just spray some tire cleaner on it and it looks great

Mine hasn't done that. I wonder what the difference is. Did any of you see the thread on Wakeworld where the guy had a Supra with the same problem. They sent him new black stuff more than once and he continued to have the problem. I think that there has to be some sort of cause and effect when the same people get the problem over and over and other people never get it.

I think they thought the Supra guy might run in water with an unusual salt or mineral content...

My boat is always garaged...is it just a simple matter of a lot of sunlight on it?

I have never put any soap on it (just what spilled over from binding lube).

I would not put 303 on it because it tends to make stuff really slippery.

Mr. Thrill, why would you fix it if it ain't broke?

Never had a problem with mine either. On the 05 the traction mat does not go to the edge of the platform. That is my only complaint.
                              Let it be!!!
