Kill the shark eyes and install docking lights

Should I remove the shark eye bow lights and replace the holes with some black docking lights, and move the nav light to the bow flat like on many other boats out there? I have the u-seat out getting recovered, so it's now or never.....I ain't pullin' that ****** out again for sure. I am thinking of putting some black docking lights in.

Here's and old/old pic of the shark eyes.

    Lights I am considering.

Do you think you need the Docking lights?

I dont think its a bad idea. Personally I dont like the shark eye nav lights.

If the black on the lights match the black on the gelcoat, I'm for it. It will hide them.

          Do both

Docking lights are cool, but I think having a clean bow with the lights below the rubrail is sweet looking.

If your going to do that then i'd put the popup bow light in the front. Won't be in the way and looks a lot cleaner. Come in white or stainless, here's a pic.

oh yeah, i just put lights on the tower for the same reasons, docking and unloading at night. Was just easier for me while i had the tower off.

I call that the nut saver nav light. I remember as a kid, climbing on the boat from the bow, cuz I was the guy pushing off the trailer. That nav light always got my nuts.

Thats another reason I love the recessed cleats. One time, at Temple Bar at lake mead, on 7/4, or memorial, some holiday... I had to get off the boat over the bow. I put my foot to find the trailer and I missed it. All of a sudden I fell down, and felt this horrendous pain at my waist and groin. The cleat, that I just fell over, was now at eye level. There on the cleat was my trunks. So that was the pain. Well, I thought I was ok, cuz this was a time I was wearing trunks where I wore underwear also with them. But then I noticed the breeze, and the HANES logo on the cleat. Stripped me clean. I spent the next few minutes with my privates up against the starboard side bow of the boat, asking for a towel or something. I must have looked like a pervert trying to have his way with a vent in the fiberglass or something. My wife did not understand the urgency, until she was handing me the towel, and said "Why are you holding yourself under the boat? Whos trunks are these?"

True story, and I don't even drink.

I would do it like the boat in Mr. Thrill's pic.

Some guys tell me that they do not help much for driving at night. I find it hard to beleive, but would like to hear it again if anyone has experience.

I have navigated Lake Powell in the dark (couldn't resist that sunset glass), and would have really like some lights up there.
                          Be excellent to one another.

I had lights on my tower on my last boat. They light up the "white" water from a wake, but as far as seeing at night in front of you,not that great.I like the way the dock lights look but thats all I could imagine them for is docking.

Some people think they are headlights, and they aren't. They're docking lights they illuminate your approach to the dock and trailer.
