    Yellow Hull

So the other day at the lake some bad weather moved in so we decided to make an emergency evac and put it on the trailer. With lighting striking we moved it into the garage as quickly as possible never wiping off the water. Now the White hull is a nice shade of yellow brown.

Whats the easiest way to get it off?

It is likely worked into the pores of the gelcoat. I have used MEK and Rust Killer (I forgot the acid that it actually is) to remove, then liberally wash, and apply polish wax. Finding the rust killer was by accident. I had some overspray get on the hull while de-rusting the trailer, and it removed the stain from the hull. I have also read where people use toilet bowel/bathtub cleaner. I haven't tried that. Tilex/simple green/bleach/etc wouldn't but it.

Muriatic acid is some nasty stuff. Does it damage the gel coat?

I would hope that they are diluting the crap out of it and using a glove to apply. Does anyone know the water to muriatic acid ratio????

Muriatic acid is strong, so you have to wash/wax immediately once finished.

Star bright hull cleaner or a west marine brand hull cleaner. Works like a charm.

No, just me, and I checked the bottle of killer. It is phosphoric acid , which isn't as strong as the other. Noting else put a dent in the stain.

Sure, in a 1 to 4 ratio. A lot of other cleaners use it as the ingredient and it is $3 for a gallon which will last you a few summers.

Thing to keep in mind too is acids are almost always water soluble. Rinse, wash, wax when done and you have no worries.
